oddess Kali. According to Markandeya Purana and other mythological plots Durga was black at the beginning. Once Lord Shiva made a joke of Parvati by saying that it seems like she’s wrapped black serpent in white sandalwood tree. Parvati became anger and they get into character by austerity. It is also said that at night Ashwathama, son of Dronacharya appears in the temple and worships Goddess Kali. Kali vahan temple is the center of faith. During Navratri, large number of devotees come here to worship Goddess Kali.
