JESUS YOUTH INTERNATIONAL
Jesus Youth is organised on a geographical basis with areas governed by Jesus Youth Councils. Zonal Councils are coordinated by a Regional Council. The National Councils coordinate the Regional Councils. The National Councils are accountable to the International Council. The council is elected for a period of three years. A Jesus Youth Region usually coincides with an Ec
clesiastical Region (canon 433 (CIC)). The higher council demarcates and forms a Region considering the number of Jesus Youth members in that area. A Regional Council governs the association in the Region and the National Council governs the association in the country. When the Ecclesiastical Region covers several countries, each country can have a National Council. The organs of governance of the association are personal and collegial. The personal ones are the Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and Finance Coordinator. The collegial ones are the Councils, and the Assemblies. At each level the association is governed by the Council elected by the respective Assembly. JESUS YOUTH TAMILNADU
From its inception in Kerala, the roots and shoots of this movement reached out to various parts of India and the world. Though various small activities commenced in later part of 1990, it was only in 1994 that an Official Jesus Youth Prayer Meeting began in Tamil Nadu thus marking the beginning of the movement in Tamil Nadu. The years that followed was a sure sign of God’s grace, providence and an assurance of His constant faithfulness. As Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has exhorted, the Year of Faith, will be a good opportunity to usher the whole Church into a time of particular reflection and rediscovery of the faith and to review its efforts at nurturing the faith of the new generation. THE FAITH CONFERENCE:
In this context, the Jesus Youth is initiating a series of regional conferences titled “Faith Conference” across the country, with the central theme “Faith”. The aim of the conference is to enable the participants to know more and to re-discover their faith, help them to live the faith in a meaningful way and guide them on how to profess the faith with renewed conviction and vigor. We will have 12 Faith conferences spread over the year, across all Ecclesial regions and involving thousands of Jesus Youth in India. The Faith Conference of Tamil Nadu Region is being held in Chennai on 12th Oct-14th Oct 2013. JESUS YOUTH TAMILNADU JUBILEE
For us Jesus Youth, the Jubilee was a time of special grace for everyone in the movement, during the course of which there were numerous occasions to reflect on the call and mission of being a Jesus Youth. The declaration of the Year of Faith has been most eagerly welcomed in the Jesus Youth movement as a God-given opportunity for ‘fostering the graces received during the Jubilee’.
25 years is indeed a milestone, which would not have been possible without YOU, who have been part of the Jesus Youth Tamil Nadu. And that calls for a celebration and Thanksgiving.
2019, is being celebrated as the Jubilee Year across Tamil Nadu with the Jubilee theme being “Reunite, Revive, Reach out”
Since the start of the year the whole of Tamil Nadu is preparing for the Jubilee celebrations. Thanksgiving mass, Adoration, musical night, Pilgrimages have happened in different zones of Tamil Nadu as part of the celebration and as a culmination of the preparations we have planned a grand conference at the end of this Jubilee Year where the whole of Tamil Nadu will be coming together in Great Thanksgiving and Jubilant celebration. This conference will mark the end of the Jubilee celebration and the beginning of the new Phase of the movement here in Tamil Nadu. At this juncture, on behalf of the present Jesus Youth of Tamil Nadu, We personally welcome you to be with us during this conference. The Jubilee conference will be held in Chennai, at Montfort Matriculation Higher Secondary School, St. Thomas Mount, on the 5th, 6th and 7th of October 2019.
