PBCA SERENITY HOME COMPLETES ONE YEAR

PBCA Serenity Home, a detoxification and rehabilitation centre established by Phom Lempong, completes one year on September 11, 2024. A special one-year anniversary thanksgiving program was held at Serenity Home Chapel Hall.

In the program, Shri. N. Tialemba Phom, Executive Secretary, PBCA, shared the history of Serenity Home's inception. He acknowledged all the Phom Churches, NGOs, individuals, and the district administration who have come forward to share the responsibility and assisted in various capacities.

Shri. W. Manpai Phom, NCS, Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, in his short speech, expressed his gratitude to PBCA for taking up this noble venture. He highlighted the prevalence of drug abuse as a significant chronic issue in Longleng district and pledged collective efforts to combat war against drugs. He encouraged the clients at Serenity Home to think and formulate post-rehabilitation plans in advance to ensure that they are successfully reintegrated into society and live a productive life.

Shri. Hiatwa Iralu, NPS, Additional SP, Longleng, and Shri. Meilu, Vice President, PPC, also delivered succinct speeches at the anniversary program.

Rev. K. Simon, Evangelist, PBCA, led a thanksgiving prayer.

The program was chaired by Shri. Philip Nyam, the in-charge of Serenity Home, with an invocation offered by Shri. Manthai, the Chaplain at Serenity Home. Additionally, the clients presented a special Nagamese song.

Over the course of 12 months, a total of 66 clients were admitted at the PBCA Serenity Home for rehabilitation.

PBCA Relief Ministry to Manipur

We prayed for peace in Manipur since the violence broke out on May 3, 2023. But we were not contended just with prayers at home and in the enclosed church building. So, we changed our perspective of prayers and asked God to pave the way for us and take us to Manipur so that we pray together with the victims of ethnic conflict and Christian persecution. God answered our prayers. Taking our faith forward, the Phom Baptist Christian Association staff, led by the executive secretary N. Tialemba Phom, visited Manipur on 18 of October 2023 to show love and concern to our Kuki and Meitei friends affected by the ethnic violence and religious persecution. We visited relief camps sheltering displaced Kukis and Meiteis, provided 1000 blankets, and told them this is a love from the Phoms. We are grateful to all the individuals, families and churches who have come forward and showed love by heading the calls of PBCA towards the relief ministry to Manipur.

We need to pray fervently for the people of Manipur, particularly for the Kukis and Meiteis. Peace is broken and has gone far from the land. Let God restore it soon.
