Salesians, Salesian Family and Salesian Cooperators Celebrate 211th Birthday of St John Bosco at Don Bosco Chingmeirong, Imphal
IMPHAL, 16 August 2026: The Salesians, members of the Salesian Family and Salesian Cooperators came together at Don Bosco Chingmeirong, Imphal, to joyfully celebrate the 211th birthday of St John Bosco, the founder of the Salesians of Don Bosco and a great apostle of the young.
The celebration brought together Salesians, members of the Salesian Family, Salesian Cooperators, staff, students and well-wishers in a spirit of faith, gratitude and fellowship. The gathering recalled the life and mission of Don Bosco, particularly his unwavering commitment to the education, formation and holistic development of young people.
The celebration also served as an occasion to renew the commitment of the Salesian Family to continue Don Bosco’s mission of accompanying young people, especially the poor and those most in need, through education, pastoral care and meaningful opportunities for growth.
The participants expressed gratitude for the legacy of Don Bosco and prayed for the continued growth of the Salesian mission in Manipur and beyond.
