Badrinath Temple is located in the town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand state, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and also one of the 108 Divyadesam Temples (a group of 108 temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu).This temple is also named as ‘Sri Badri Narayana Perumal Temple’ and ‘Thiruvadhari Ashramam’. It is said that Badrinath Temple was originally installed by Adi Shankaracharya and it was renovated several times after its installation. And it is said that this temple has been turned from a Buddhist shrine into a Hindu temple by Adi Shankaracharya.

Badrinath temple, one of the Panch Badri temples, houses the presiding deity Lord Badrinarayanan typically in a meditative posture, one of the seven self-manifested idols of Lord Vishnu.
