Sometimes, the greatest poverty is not having little. It is believing that Allah cannot provide what you need.
Think about how often fear has spoken to us.
“What if I lose my job?”
“What if the business fails?”
“What if this opportunity does not come?”
“What if I cannot pay this debt?”
“What if tomorrow is worse than today?”
And before we realise it, we have spent so much time worrying about provision that we forget Who controls provision.
The Qur’an repeatedly reminds us that Rizq belongs to Allah.
Allah says:
وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا
“And there is no creature on earth whose provision is not upon Allah.”
Qur’an 11:6
This does not mean we should sit down and wait for money to fall from the sky.
Work.
Learn.
Build.
Apply.
Trade.
Create.
Plan.
Take the means.
But do not let your fear of poverty make you forget your Lord.
There is something deeply powerful about working hard while knowing that your effort is only a means, not the ultimate source of your provision.
Your employer is a means.
Your customers are a means.
Your business is a means.
Your connections are a means.
Your skills are a means.
But Allah is the Provider.
And perhaps that is one of the greatest lessons we need to remember in difficult seasons:
The door you can see is not the only door Allah can open.
So, when tomorrow looks uncertain, do not allow fear to become your theology.
Do your part sincerely.
Then leave what you cannot control to the One who controls everything.
Rizq is not in the hands of your circumstances. It is in the hands of Allah.
