Esteemed Devotees,

For and on behalf of the Ashok Buddha Vihar Management Trust (ABVMT), the undersigned takes immense pleasure to inform all devotees in Delhi-NCR regarding the celebration of the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti/Purnima also known as Vesak at Ashok Buddha Vihar, Rajghat, New Delhi on 1 May 2026 {Friday) from 9:00 AM onwards.

The ABVMT cordially invites all devotees in Delhi-NCR with their family and
friends to share merits (Punya) from this very auspicious event, which
commemorates the Birth, Enlightment and Parinirvana of Lord Buddha.

Delhi-NCR Chakmas Start Nuo Bozo With Buddha Puja

Today, the Chakmas of the Delhi-NCR started their Nuo Bozor/ New Year with Buddha Purnima at our Ashok Buddha Vihar (Chakma Buddha Mandir), Rajghat, New Delhi.

The Delhi Chakma Mandir has been the cradle of the Chakma samaaj in Delhi-NCR region. Apart from providing access to education, it provided the space for movement and protection of the Chakmas across India and Bangladesh too.

The Delhi-NCR Chakma society has also become quite a strong community over the years.

Appeal for Monthly Contribution Towards Ashok Buddha Vihar

Today, the underground septic tank (sewage tank) of Ashok Buddha Vihar, Rajghat, New Delhi suddenly became full and required immediate cleaning. To prevent overflow and unhygienic conditions, a suction machine vehicle from the Delhi Jal Board, Government of NCT of Delhi was called for emergency service.

The septic tank was cleaned using a mechanized suction system, and the total charge for the service amounted to Rs. 11,000/-. This was an unforeseen and unavoidable expense.

In addition to such emergency costs, Ashok Buddha Vihar requires approx. Rs. 15,000/- per month to meet its regular expenses, including:

• Bhante’s monthly honorarium
• Water charges
• Electricity bills
• General maintenance of the premises

Therefore, the Ashok Buddha Vihar Management Trust (ABVMT) humbly appeals to all devotees and well-wishers to support the Ashok Buddha Vihar through a minimum monthly contribution/subscription of:

• Rs. 200 per family per month
• Rs. 100 per individual/student per month

Those who are financially capable may kindly contribute more than the minimum amount.

Apart from the monthly subscription, devotees and well-wishers are also encouraged to make additional donations towards the maintenance and development of Ashok Buddha Vihar.

Contributions may be made through the QR code shared herewith.

Ashok Buddha Vihar is the only place for the Chakmas living in Delhi-NCR, where we gather for Buddha Puja, other religious ceremonies, cultural programmes and community meetings. In fact, Ashok Buddha Vihar represents our identity in a city like Delhi. Hence, it is our responsibility to preserve and maintain Ashok Buddha Vihar for the welfare of present and future generations.
