MCYM-Mumbai District conducted ‘IMPACT – Influencing My Personality As Christian Teen’ together with the inauguration of the Annual Agenda for the Year 2016-17 at St. Thomas Malankara Church, Thane on 15 August 2016. The Day began with the Holy Qurbono at 8 am con-celebrated by Fr. John Britto OIC and Fr. Varghese Valikkodath.
In order to pay the tribute to the Nation and the National Leaders on the Independence Day, Fr. Varghese Valikkodath hoisted the National Flag and Ms Liny Varghese led the community in the National Pledge.
The main focuses of the day other than Annual Agenda was to aid the youth to develop a personality, with Christ as the epicenter. MCYM-Mumbai was privileged to have Mrs. Anne Anish from Pune District as the trainer of the day. She groomed our youth on Intelligence, Emotional and Spiritual Quotient which are the essential elements for the personality development of any individual.
The outgoing Director of Mumbai-MCYM, Fr John Britto OIC was accorded a thankful farewell and the new Director, Fr Joseph Menekaleeckal OIC was given a warm welcome on the occasion. All the new youth members from across the District to the MCYM family was cordially incorporated through an ice-breaking session.
Later on the Day, the Protopresbyter of Mumbai-District, Fr. Mathai Iranathara OIC handed over the Annual Agenda to the MCYM District Director, Fr. Joseph Menekaleeckal OIC hence inaugurating the Annual MCYM District Agenda.
All the Unit Secretariats were appreciated for the efforts in the past year and were encouraged by giving appreciation certificates to each Unit. IMPACT was another successful event of MCYM Mumbai District which received a tap on their shoulder with the grace of the Almighty Father. The event was witnessed by more than 100 youths and almost all the Parish Priests, Sisters and Animators of the District.

The Bangalore Malankara Community conducted ‘The Mar Ivanios PADAYATHRA’ on 17 July 2016. 450 faithful from the 4 parishes gathered at 8 am at Sacred Heart’s Brothers Campus Gedalahalli for the morning prayers. Following this the Ivanian Cross, banners and Papal flags where blessed and entrusted to the MCYM members of the District. The Aboon along with 8 Priests and 5 sisters participated in the Padayatra with the Sunday School children, MCYM, MCA and Mathrusangham members. All through the stretch of 4 km on Hennur Main road, the members walked, singing songs and chanting Prayers, seeking the intercession of the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios, until they reached the destination St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic Church Hennur. After the Dhoopa Prarthana and Nercha Vilampu at church premises, the community whole heartedly participated in the Holy Qurbono which was celebrated by HE Thomas Mar Anthonios, Bangalore Protopresbyter Rev Fr Varghese kadaketh, Rev Frs. Geevarghese Kaithavana, Aby OIC, Mathew Varikkatt, Sunil Maria Benedict, Mathew Puthenpurekal, Blesson OIC and John Aluvila. The participation of many Brothers studying at the Dharmaram Vidaya Kshetra was a blessing for the occasion.
After the Holy Qurbono, His Excellency congratulated Mr Joy CE and Mr Sabu Pappachen from the Bangalore District who have received the Sabhathala Suvisesha Sangham Kaiveppu during the Mar Ivanios Day celebrations at Pattom on the 14 and 15 July 2016. His Excellency also Inaugurated Prabodhanam, a monthly faith formation programme for MCA and Mathrusangham members by handing over a copy of the Syllabus to Mrs. Moncy John (District President – Mathrusangham) and Mr. Johnraj (District President - MCA) and also officially re-launched Mar Ivanios Prayer Ladder.
Church Secretary, Mr. Joseph Varghese presented the Vote of Thanks to all and later Lunch was served for all the members assembled at the parish hall before concluding the day.

MAR IVANIOS PRAYER LADDER

The Exarchate of St Ephrem takes initiative in relaunching Mar Ivanios Prayer Ladder, which was active in erstwhile MCC ETRI for more than 5 years.

His Excellency Thomas Mar Anthonios, the Apostolic Exarch formally relaunches the Prayer Ladder on 17 July 2016 during the Mar Ivanios Padayatra in Bangalore.

MCA, MCYM, MCCL and Mathrusangham Leaders of the Exarchate take the lead role in promoting the Prayer Leader in the Exarchate.

Anyone who would like to pray for others through the intercession of Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios can voluntarily join in this Prayer Ladder.
