HAYAGREEVA JAPAM & HOMAM - 8th February (Sunday)

This is examination time and how well we prepare, when we are in the examinational
hall, we should be able to recollect all we have read, so that we can attempt the answers. Our hard work and sincere efforts are must, but along with it we need God's grace for success in any field including exams. With this in view, the Samaj proposes to invoke the blessings of Lord Hayagreeva for the welfare and success of the students through propitiation of an exclusive Havan devoted to Lord Hayagreeva.
Lord Hayagreeva is an embodiment of intelligence and knowledge. He is an Avatar of Lord Vishnu who gives divine intelligence and wisdom and is worshipped as the God of wisdom and knowledge. Symbolically, He presents the triumph of pure knowledge, guided by the hand of God, over the demonic forces of passion and darkness. Traditionally, Lord Hayagreeva is worshipped for all learning ventures.
The proposed Havan programme is as follows and all students & parents alike, are advised to take full part and receive the revered blessings of Lord Hayagreeva.

MAHA SHIVARATRI CELEBRATIONS
Sunday 15th Feb 2026 - Monday 16th Feb 2026

ā€œtryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭi-vardhanam
urvārukam iva bandhanān mį¹›ityor mukį¹£heeya māmį¹›itātā€
Verse from Rig Veda (RV 7.59.12)

The occasion of Maha Shivaratri depicts the divine wedding of Goddess Parvathi and Lord Shiva. On this day, Lord was also believed to have performed ā€˜Tandava Nritya’, a cosmic dance of creation, sustenance, and destruction.
In line with our professed faith and our past practice, the Samaj proposes to commence Maha Shivaratri Celebrations 2026, in spiritual and dedicated manner with Maha Mrityunjaya mantra japam by vedic pandits commencing from Friday, 13th February, 2026, and concluding with Maha Mrityunjaya Homam on Sunday, 15th February 2026.
Lord Shiva, beholder of Maha Mrityunjaya mantra, is expected to bestow health, wealth, long life, peace, prosperity, satisfaction, immortality, and contentment. It is a mantra to conquer death and connects us to our own inner divinity. Vedic pandits will perform Maha Mrityunjaya japam (1,25,000 Avritis) in a focused and intense manner. This when performed in unison will generate all round divine and positive vibrations, ward off all the negative energies, evil forces, and create a powerful protective shield. This mantra is a timeless Vedic ritual and a centuries old technique of connecting oneself to pure consciousness and bliss.
Maha Shivaratri, first Kaala pooja starts on the evening of Sunday 15th February 2026 and concludes with the fourth Kaala pooja, in the early morning hours of Monday 16th February, 2026.

NAVAGRAHA HOMAM 4th Jan 2026

Event Details: Navagraha Homam
Date: 4th Jan 2026
Time: 9:20 AM

The Navagraha Homam is a significant Vedic ritual performed to appease the nine celestial deities (planets) in Hindu astrology: Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu. The primary goal is to mitigate the negative (malefic) effects of unfavorable planetary positions in a person's birth chart (horoscope) and enhance positive influences for overall well-being.

Purpose and Benefits:
The homam (fire ritual) is rooted in the belief that planetary alignments heavily influence human destiny, affecting aspects such as health, career, relationships, and financial stability. By invoking the planets and offering specific oblations into the sacred fire, devotees seek to balance these cosmic energies.

Key benefits include:

+ Mitigating 'Doshas': The ritual serves as a powerful remedy for various astrological flaws or "doshas" (afflictions) in the horoscope, which are believed to cause life's challenges and obstacles.

+ Attracting positive energy: It aims to remove misfortune and bad luck, attracting positive energy, peace of mind, and general prosperity.

+ Addressing specific issues: It is often performed to resolve specific problems such as delays in marriage, health ailments, financial difficulties, and career stagnation.

+ Overall well-being: The ultimate goal is to achieve Ayushya (long life), Arogya (health), Aishvarya (wealth), and Saukhya (happiness), thereby ensuring success in all endeavors.

Procedure:
The ritual is typically conducted by experienced priests well-versed in Vedic scriptures. The main steps generally involve:

1. Ganesha puja: The ceremony begins with prayers to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, to ensure the ritual's smooth ex*****on.

2. Invocation: The presence of each of the nine planets is invoked using their specific mantras.

3. Fire offerings: Offerings, often including specific food grains associated with each planet, are made into the sacred fire pit (Homa Kund).

4. Prayers and blessings: The ritual concludes with prayers to the deities to receive their blessings and neutralize negative influences.

The Navagraha Homam does not change one's destiny but helps in navigating challenging planetary periods with greater ease and resilience.

For those unable to perform the complex ritual privately, temples offer an authentic and accessible way to receive the full blessings of the nine celestial deities (planets).

This function is a wonderful opportunity to come together in worship, prayer, and fellowship, and to seek divine blessings as a community. Your active participation and presence would be a great honor and would truly enrich the spiritual ambiance of the event. Laghu Prasadam will follow after the Navagraha Puja on 4th Jan 2026.

The samaj would be grateful for your valuable support in the preparations. If you are interested in participating, contact Manager of the temple. You can also transfer your contribution via UPI (QR code attached) and provide the details through +91-8920302151 or e-mail: [email protected]

Rs 500/- per Family is the charges for performing Navagraha Homam at the Temple premises.
Rs 6000/- per Family for 12 months.

Thank you for your continued devotion and support.
