How many generations have passed between you and Adam? Have you ever wondered about your own grandfathers and grandmothers, and those before them? They too, each and every one of them, lived their lives with similar hopes, dreams, aspirations, problems, sufferings, joys, marriages, births, deaths, disasters, and ups and downs as you. Yet, each one of them suffered the same inevitable death that is decreed to and upon mankind. And each and every one of them eventually faded into the anonymity of your past even as you live in the present.
And your children and their children after you - they too will join this continuous chain and unbroken lineage, but after your own time has come to an end and the future for you becomes the present for them.
Take advantage of this life, before you too become unknown in the anonymity of your own descendant's past. For your descendants might not know you or your life's efforts, but Allah will take account of all, and He shall judge you for your deeds.

"And the life of the next world - that is the true life! If they but knew" [Ankabut: 64]

say: come i will recite what your lord has forbidden to you (remember) that you do not associate anything with him and show kindness to your parents, and do not slay your children for (fear of) poverty; we provide for you and for them; and do not draw nigh to indecencies, those of them which are apparent and those which are concealed, and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden except for the requirements of justice; this he has enjoined you with that you may understand

And [by] the moon when it follows it
And [by] the day when it displays it
And [by] the night when it covers it
And [by] the sky and He who constructed it
And [by] the earth and He who spread it
And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it

He has succeeded who purifies it,
And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].”
