The finale of the Mountain series culminated in a deeper understanding of the series in its entirety through a Q&A session that explored subjects ranging from authority and purity to valuing the Word of God. Insights on the “Law” being given on the mountain brought greater revelations on expecting God to release a Word.
“You knowing who you are is what makes you an authoritarian”. Identity in Christ is the confidence, purpose, and power. Unlike worldly authority, the authority given through Christ is established in love and freedom. Fruitfulness and multiplication become evident when the power given by God is recognized and exercised in faith.
There is a dangerous trap of familiarity in times of abundance of the Word and proximity of the Presence. Jesus preached to thousands, healed many, and taught the disciples in close proximity, yet only Mary was found at His tomb. Mary and Martha reveal the difference between valuing the Word and becoming familiar with it. While Martha remained occupied with hosting, Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn from Him.
Purity is both a position given by God and a responsibility maintained through personal choice. Holiness becomes a joyful expression of spiritual maturity through the Word and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
(Isaiah 2:1–2)states about people flowing to the mountain of God. For what? So that God may teach His ways to us, where His paths are revealed and His “Word” is given. Out of the Zion, comes the “Word”.Going to the mountain is not merely an option but a way of life. The Word is given on the mountain, and the fear of the Lord comes in. “Word that comes on Jerusalem, will take you to New Jerusalem”. Going up to the Mountain of God is never without an expectation for God to release a Word-the Word that transforms us and prepares us for the New Jerusalem.
