𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐘𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐘 (𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓) 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐘. We are pleased to offer the opportunity to make offerings and share in the virtuous activities of this year’s annual ‘Rainy Season Summer Retreat’ (Yarney) at Mindrolling monastery, Dehradun, India, to be held from July 29th to September 12th, 2026. You are cordially invited to participate. Gompa member-supporters can send offerings, together with dedications, at any time up until September 12th, 2026.

The Event:

The summer retreat is a sacred tradition established by the Buddha Shakyamuni. During this time, the monks remain within the monastery and concentrate exclusively on study and practice. Special vows are taken and strict discipline is followed by all of the monks. This is considered an especially meritorious time when it is traditional for lay followers to participate by making offerings for the monks’ food and tea during the period of retreat.

To participate in this event, please go to www.gompaservices.com and sign in to your Gompa member-supporter account and select ‘See all current and upcoming events’ in the ‘Participate in year-round Special Events’ panel; then select the event (from the list in date order, or by selecting Mindrolling from the monastery / nunnery list).

If you wish to be notified by email of further upcoming special events at Mindrolling, please sign in to your Gompa account and select ‘Notification Preferences’ from the Navigation Menu.
