St.George orthodox syrian church(valiya pally)cheppad,that situates with self esteem on NH 47 is renowned in the pages of kerala history and keeps a noble position in malankara orthodox church with it's ancientness,spiritual elevation and rich tradition. The church being the dwelling and final resting piace of HH philipose mar Dionysius(malankara methrapolithan1825-1855)the protector of the orthodox faiths is sacred and its historical significance increases as it perpetuates the ancient architectural style.Thousands throng at cheppad with the prayers and beseech intercessions of mar Dionysius...Devotees without caste,creed distinction approach the tomb for solace and remedy for their agonies. The blessed guarding of st.george the martyr and the intercession of venerable mar Dionysius are refuge to thousands even today. The st.george orthodox syrian church,cheppad was founded(1050AD)before the arrival or portuguese.the mural paintings that adorn the walls of holy sanctuary add glory to the church.These wall paintings which time could not scrape away remain symbols of artistic excellency,christian tradition and heritage of faith..The said paintings which deserve deep studies and historical queries attracts many from natives and foreigners..

കഴിഞ്ഞ 3 വർഷക്കാലം ഇടവകയെ നയിച്ച വന്ദ്യ. ബിജി അച്ചന് വി. കുർബ്ബാനയ്ക്കുശേഷം യാത്രയപ്പ് നൽകി.
