XlX 1.7) “After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.” (Revelation 11:11)

Dear beloved people of the Lord,
During the 3½ years of great tribulation after the rise of the antichrist, the bodies of the two witnesses who ministered will lie in the street for exactly 3½ days without burial. The sinful people of the world, who follow the antichrist, will be watching this.
Suddenly, the breath of life from God will enter into those dead bodies, and they will stand up on their feet. All those around the world who were watching them with joy through television will be filled with great fear and terror when they see them standing alive again.

In the Bible, we know that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day, as it is written:

“Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father…” (Romans 6:4)

We also know that Lazarus was called out of the tomb on the fourth day.
It is written:

“The Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7)

From this, we understand that man became a living soul because of the breath of God.

The term “breath of life” refers to the Holy Spirit. As it is written:

“The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2 Corinthians 3:6)

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he… will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)

These verses teach us that the Holy Spirit, who is part of the Trinity, has the power to give life to both the soul and the body. The Holy Spirit also had a role in raising Jesus Christ from the dead. Therefore, the same Spirit will give life to our mortal bodies.

In the book of Ezekiel chapter 37, when the dry bones were made alive, God said:

“I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.” (Ezekiel 37:5)

“So I prophesied as I was commanded… breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.” (Ezekiel 37:10)

“I will put my Spirit in you and you will live.” (Ezekiel 37:14)

All these scriptures clearly show that the Spirit of God has the power to give life even to dead bodies.

So, when those dead bodies stand up after 3½ days, it is not surprising that people are filled with fear and terror. The worst thing wicked people can do to a person is to kill him. But if the one who was killed rises and stands alive again, imagine what will happen!

Their celebration, joy, and exchanging of gifts will immediately stop. The whole world will witness this shocking event again and again through television, and fear will spread everywhere.

XlX 1.6) “Because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth, the inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts.” (Revelation 11:10)

Beloved holy people of the Lord, the phrase “inhabitants of the earth” found in this verse is used twelve times in the book of Revelation. The people of this world will not only look at the dead bodies of these two holy servants, but they will also rejoice over them, celebrate, and even send gifts to one another. After the 3½-year conflict, when the beast—the Antichrist—kills these two servants, the people of the earth will be filled with such great joy. The practice of sending gifts to one another as an expression of celebration can be seen even in Old Testament times, as confirmed by the following Scriptures.

“At that time King Xerxes gave a great banquet, Esther’s banquet, for all his nobles and officials. He proclaimed a holiday throughout the provinces and distributed gifts with royal liberality.” (Esther 2:18)

“Therefore the rural Jews—those living in villages—observe the fourteenth day of the month of Adar as a day of joy and feasting, a day for giving presents to each other.” (Esther 9:19)

“And he wrote them to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor.” (Esther 9:21–22)

The reason for their celebration is that these two prophets had tormented the inhabitants of the earth. The warnings of God’s wrath that came through these two prophets must have deeply troubled them. By their death, the people may think that such warnings have come to an end.

Servants who proclaim the truth must speak against sin. Then those living in sin must either repent and accept God, or oppose these servants. Anyone who hears the true gospel must either love and accept Jesus or reject Him and continue in sin, preparing to face judgment. There is no middle ground.

We must examine whether, in our ministry, we are causing discomfort to the inhabitants of the earth. It is true that Jesus loves, delivers, calls, and heals—but these are only part of the gospel. Jesus, the righteous Judge, who appeared to save humanity, “came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15). “The Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them” (Luke 9:56). “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person… for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world” (John 12:47). “For the Son of Man came to save the lost” (Matthew 18:11). These verses clearly show God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. At the same time, ministers must boldly proclaim that He will also come to judge those who refuse salvation.

“See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed…” (Jude 14–15)

“This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel…” (2 Thessalonians 1:7–8)

“They will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.”

All these Scriptures teach us that Jesus will come as Judge over all who do not obey the truth. The Holy Spirit, who has been sent to the people of the age of grace, was not sent to give worldly blessings, but, as our beloved Savior said, “When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8). If gatherings and worship services are filled excessively with laughter, noise, entertainment, self-glory, and excitement, it indicates that the Holy Spirit is not present among them.

“He who troubles Israel” (1 Kings 18:17) was the great testimony given to the prophet Elijah. These two witnesses also troubled and shook the whole world, making people realize who their Lord God truly is. Beloved servants of God, redeemed people, shall we also become such witnesses for Christ Jesus the King in this world?

XlX 1.5) “People from every nation, tribe, language and people will gaze on their bodies for three and a half days, and refuse them burial.” (Revelation 11:9)

Beloved saints of the Lord, this is a sign of how deeply the beast and the people of the world hate the servants of God. Even after killing them, they will not allow their bodies to be buried. Instead, they will leave them lying in the streets for three and a half days. Their bodies will remain there, and people will look at them as they decay.

About 2000 years ago, it would have been impossible for humans to even imagine that an event happening in one place could be seen by people all over the world at the same time. Yet, we can understand that everything happens according to God’s plan. As it is written

“But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” (Daniel 12:4)

According to this word, in the time of the end, many will move about, and knowledge will increase. The advancements we see today in communication—especially through satellites—are part of God’s eternal plan. Through this, it becomes possible for the whole world to witness the servants of God being killed by the beast (the Antichrist) and lying in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half days.
The people of the world—nations, tribes, languages, and communities—will take part in this evil, watching it with excitement.

In the same way, when Jesus Christ was handed over to be crucified, the people of Jerusalem joined in that sin, as described below: Mark 15:10–15 “Pilate knew it was out of self-interest that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead. ‘What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?’ Pilate asked them. ‘Crucify him!’ they shouted.
‘Why? What crime has he committed?’ asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, ‘Crucify him!’ Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.”

XlX 1.4) “Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called S***m and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.” (Revelation 11:8)

Beloved holy people of God, in the previous verse we saw that the beast that wages war against the two witnesses kills them. The Antichrist, symbolized as the beast, may kill the Lord’s witnesses. But no one can destroy the truth that came from them. No one can take away the salvation of those who have learned and held firmly to that truth, nor can anyone turn them back.

It is written that the bodies of the two witnesses, who were killed by the beast, will lie in the streets of the great city, Jerusalem, for three and a half days. From this, we can understand that the ministry of these two witnesses will mainly take place in Jerusalem and in the surrounding regions where the people of Israel live. Their period of ministry will also be significant.

During the first three and a half years of the tribulation, they are appointed to minister for 1,260 days. In the latter half, their ministry extends even further—an additional 75 days—making it 1,335 days in total. As it is written:

“Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.”

According to Jewish traditions, those who speak or prophesy against God are judged as blasphemers. They are killed, and their bodies are not buried but left where they were slain.

As it is written: “They have given the dead bodies of your servants as food to the birds of the sky, the flesh of your own people to the animals of the wild. They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury the dead.”

And also: “You have defied the word of the Lord… therefore your body will not be buried in the tomb of your ancestors.”

Yet in contrast: “Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.”
These passages reveal the customs among the people of Israel.

Dear children of the Lord, the city that was called the holy city—Jerusalem—is figuratively described as S***m and Egypt in a spiritual sense. S***m represents extreme wickedness and sin.

It is written: “The outcry against S***m and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous.”

“Their vine comes from S***m and from the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are filled with poison, and their clusters with bitterness.”

“S***m… and Samaria… are compared in their corruption.”

“S***m and Gomorrah… gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion, serving as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.”
“He condemned the cities of S***m and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes… making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly.”

All these scriptures show that the sins of the people of Jerusalem (Israel) are compared to the extreme wickedness of S***m and Gomorrah.

In the same way, their sins are also compared to Egypt. Egypt represents backsliding, bo***ge, and idolatry.

When speaking about Jerusalem, it is impossible not to mention that it is the city where Jesus Christ was crucified. This stands as its greatest sin. That is why the Lord reminds us of the crucifixion of Jesus.

We must also remember that Stephen and James became the first martyrs of the New Testament in Jerusalem.

Therefore, through this, God shows Jerusalem as a symbolic example—a city guilty of shedding the blood of the saints and committing great wrongdoing.

According to book of Ephesians chapter 6, we can find that you need not to wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness and in the heavenly places.
