Day 3 - Life lesson
You might wonder why I push myself so hard when I m under huge loss - why I seem to go above and beyond in life. Many perceive it as excessive, but there are myriad reasons behind it.
One of these reasons, which I've shared before, stems from my experience in November when I stayed at the Taj hotel. They provided everything, including an extravagant spread for our steam bath—I used six towels 🫣🫣. There was abundance all around.
However, just last week, during the flood, I couldn't return home. Guests were occupying my place, and the limited backup power only catered few. My only power socket was on the church stage floor. I slept there, charging my phone without a mat beneath me.
From a luxurious bed at the Taj to the hard floor of a church— from 6 towels for 15 min steam to carpet floor - that's life's stark contrast.
The realization that we can't take anything with us when we depart from this world is something every human should grasp. I'm not advocating for giving away everything, but I earnestly believe it's not worth fighting over material possessions. Moreover, holding onto hate, bitterness, or ego is simply not worth it.
Three days of community service taught me invaluable life lessons. It served as a reminder to slow down, to focus, and to resist drowning in depression or overwhelming emotions.
This spot on the church floor became my resting place, and I'm immensely grateful to everyone who welcomed my family and me into their homes. Your support has been an incredible source of strength for me in everything I do. Blessings to each and every one of you.
