Sagaya Annai Church had a fairly humble beginning in the year 1987 as a small chapel to fulfil the spiritual needs of around twenty Catholic families and was made a Sub-Parish to Ambathur Main-Parish. Later a big Church was constructed by Rev Fr PJ Lawrence Raj. On 21st May 2000, Mannurpet was given the status of an independent parish. crament Fathers. On 15th August every year, the Sagaya Annai Feast is celebrated with enthusiasm. Recently the church was completely demolished and built from scratch by Rev Fr.Joseph at the expense of more than 2 crores. The Church now stands tall with the Lord Jesus himself looking over the entire Padi community.
