Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram, Chennai was established in 1976 by His Holiness Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji.

His Holiness Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji first visited Chennai for a public function in 1970, Further, the first World tour was also organized in 1976 by an ardent devotee from Chennai. The Main temple is Sri Anagha Lakshmi sameda Sri Adiguru Dattatreya Swami, consecrated on 10-July-1989 - The 8th Dattatreya Temple among the Shodasha Datta Kshetras established by Param Pujya

Sri Swamiji. The Other deities in the temple complex are Sri Karya Siddhi Anjaneya Swamy, Sri Rajarajeswari Ambal, Sri Maha Ganapathy, Sri Dakshinamurthy, Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevar and Navagraha Sannidhi,

Sri. R. Venkatraman (Ramani), Executive Trustee and R C. Udayshankar, Trustee, SGS Trust, Chennai met the Hon'ble Medical and Welfare Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu - Sri. Ma. Subramanian today evening and handed over cheques for Rs. 5 Lakhs towards Tamil Nadu CM Public Relief Fund.

The contribution consists of:
(1) Rs.1.5 Lakhs by Sri Jayalakshmi Mata Nitya Annadana Trust, Mysore,
(2) Rs.2.5 Lakhs by Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Trust, Chennai and
(3) Rs.1 Lakh by Adi Guru Dattanjaneya Trust, Chennai.

The Trustees of SGS Trust, Adi Guru Dattanjaneya Trust and Jayalakshmi Matha Mathru Mandali offer their Shastanga Pranams to the Lotus Feet of Param Pujya Sri Appaji and Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji and also profusely thank the Trustees of Sri Jayalakshmi Mata Nitya Annadana Trust, Mysore, for the contribution from the Trust at Mysore.

The Trustees also profusely thank all the devotees who have donated to the Trusts to make this contribution and pray to Parama Pujya Sri Appaji and Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji to shower choicest of their blessings on the donors.

On the auspicious occasion of the 79th Birthday celebration of Parama Pujya Sri Sri Sri Swamiji, Ganapathi Homam, special Ksheerabishekam and archanai was performed to Sri Anagha Lakshmi sametha Sri Dattatreya Swami, Sri Rajarajeswari Ambal and Sri Karya Siddhi Hanuman this morning at Adi Guru Dattatreya Kshetram, Velachery, Chennai. All pujas were performed in the name of Sri Sri Swamiji with the entire Datta family praying for Sri Swamiji's good health and long life 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Special Annadhanam on this Joyous occasion and which is very dear to Sri Swamiji, was undertaken by Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Trust, Adi Guru Dattanjaneya Trust and Sri Jayalakshmi Mata Matru Mandali through Deepam Trust, Velachery, Chennai as part of Sri Sri Swamijis birthday celebrations. Nearly around 1000 people in and around Velachery were fed with Birinji rice, Sambhar rice, Sweet and appalam.

The food was distributed in various places through van and many workers in these tough covid times, who were working in the peak of summer were also fed today. Water bottles were also distributed.

We pray to Pujya Sri Swamiji and Sri Balaswamiji to bless the Sevakarthas with good health, long life, happiness and prosperity 🙏

Hanuman Jayanthi was celebrated in SGS Ashram, Chennai on 17 Dec 2017. Devotees participated in large number and did samarpana of Raksha Mala and Tulasi Mala to Karya Siddhi Hanuman. Students of TKG Gurukulam, Chennai, sang Hanuman bhajans and did Tamil Hanuman Chalisa parayana.

19th Inter School Bhajan Competition in SGS Ashram, Chennai was conducted on 14th October, 2017. 14 schools from all over Chennai participated in the competition. Sri Jaitra Varanasi, Sri Mani, Sri K.V. Bala were the judges for the competition.

First prize - Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, KK Nagar
Second prize - Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, Siruseri

On Sep 14th, 2017, Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji arrived at Chennai Ashrama at 6pm from Nadupalani.
Sri Bala Swamiji inspected the Nadupalani Subramanya Swamy construction and also the reconstruction of the temple complex in Chennai Velachery Ashram.

He arrived at 6pm in Velachery Ashram and went into the Mukha Mantapam area of the temple which itself forms a big hall in front of the temples. The major roof concreting of the temple complex is scheduled for 15th Sep 2017. Sri Bala Swamiji did puja in the Mukha Mantapam area and went to the top of the roof and also did the puja and put 3 trowels of concrete as a symbolic starting of the roof concreting work.

Later he gave darshan to all the devotees assembled in Sachchidananda Hall of Velachery Ashram.

We are extremely happy to inform all devotees that our Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamji (Sri Bala Swamiji) after completing His 14th Chaturmasya Vratha in Mysore Ashrama, is arriving from Vijayawada on 14th Sep Morning and proceeding directly from the Airport to Nadupalani. Pujya Sri Swamji is expected to reach Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama, Velachery in the evening around 5:00 pm. It is also likely that he will give Darshan and Anugraha Bashan in the Velachery Ashrama around 6:00 pm. We request all Devotees to note this programme and come to Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram, Velachery, Chennai.

Pujya Sri Bala Swamiji visited SGS Ashram, Chennai on 9 Apr 2017 after blessing Panguni Utthiram festivities in Nadupalani.

In the evening at 6:00pm, Maha Lakshmi Homam was performed. Pujya Sri Bala Swamiji blessed all the devotees with His Anugraha Bhashana and later blessed all the devotees present with "Ugadi Pachchadi" in view of the coming Tamil New Year on Apr 14th.
