Kingdom Living a one day retreat on the 1st of may.He is a faithful God and true to His word. The worship by Jason Bakthakumar was a heaven on earth experience as the Holy spirit spoke and ministered through him. There was also a time of relaxation, fun, and a small skit. During the final session the Holy Spirit moved in a very powerful manner as He used Pastor.Minnie Bakthkumar with the word of wisdom and knowledge. Senior Pastor moved on to the "Part 6" of the series "FINANCIAL FREEDOM" on 30th June 2013 at Victory Tabernacle, Chennai. The message is titled "THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING TITHE".
Malachi 3:8-12(NIV)
"8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty."
This is the only place in the Bible in which God asks us to test him.
When we tithe God takes the responsibility of defeating the enemy.
1) Tithing is a command, not an option.
Deuteronomy 14:28(NIV)
"At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns"
2) Give one tenth of what you earn and not from what is left after spending. In a corporate sense, we must tithe from our full salary and not from our 'take home pay'.
3) True tithing produces God's character in us because giving is God's character. John 3:16(NIV)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
4) Haggai 2:8(NIV)
"‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty."
When we tithe, we tell to God that all we have belongs to him.
5) Tithing produces discipline in a person's financial life.
6) Tithe belongs only to your local Church. Over and above our tithe's, we are free to give our offerings as the Lord leads.
7) 1 Timothy 5:17-18(NIV)
"17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. 18 For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and “The worker deserves his wages."
As all of us know these verses are self-explanatory in nature. Those who instruct us in the Word (mostly Pastors) deserve double of both honor and respect. We must also share with them in all good things. Galatians 6:6(NIV)
"Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor."
When we don't tithe, we are robbing God.

Senior Pastor continued the study on "FINANCIAL FREEDOM". Here is a brief excerpt of the "Part 3" of the series given by Rev.Dr.B.M.C.Bakthakumar on 23rd June 2013 at Victory Tabernacle Chennai.
Senior Pastor taught us 5 Work ethics that we as believers must keep in mind as we work in this crooked world
1) WORK HARD
Here are some Scriptures which are self explanatory in nature that Senior Pastor mentioned to substantiate his teaching.
Proverbs 10:4(NIV)
"Lazy hands make for poverty,
but diligent hands bring wealth."
Proverbs 6:10(NIV)
"A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest"
Thessalonians-3:6(NIV)
"In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us."
These Scriptures tell us that we must work diligently and remaining idle is a shameful thing.
If you are thinking that work is a curse from God after man's fall, then you are absolutely wrong, the Senior Pastor elaborately explained it.He quoted the Scriptures from Genesis 2:15(NIV)
" The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it."
This Scripture clearly says that God wanted man to work the Garden of Eden. God said this before the 'fall' because after the 'fall' man was sent out from the Garden of Eden. Work is not a curse after the fall it is a honorable thing. God honors our hard work.
2) DON'T BE A WORKAHOLIC
Proverbs 23:4 (NIV)
"Do not wear yourself out to get rich;
do not trust your own cleverness."
Ask for God's wisdom to maintain the balance.
3) TREAT OTHERS FAIRLY
Proverbs 22:16 (NIV)
"One who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth
and one who gives gifts to the rich—both come to poverty."
James 5:4 (NIV)
"Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty."
We must not exploit other people because of their socio-economic status. After we get the work done, we must pay them in time as agreed upon. Don't torment a person verbally, especially people who work under you. God views it seriously.
4) BE TRUTHFUL IN YOUR BUSINESS
Amos 8:4-6(NIV)
"4 Hear this, you who trample the needy
and do away with the poor of the land,
5 saying,
“When will the New Moon be over
that we may sell grain,
and the Sabbath be ended
that we may market wheat?”—
skimping on the measure,
boosting the price
and cheating with dishonest scales,
6 buying the poor with silver
and the needy for a pair of sandals,
selling even the sweepings with the wheat."
Don't cheat others to make few pennies. Do not make false promises or build false images. Be truthful in whatever you do. God will surely reward you.
5) God asks us to rest on one day. So, we must keep the Sabbath holy and go to church on Sundays.

Senior Pastor continued the study on "FINANCIAL FREEDOM". Here is a brief excerpt of the "Part 2" of the series given by Rev.Dr.B.M.C.Bakthakumar on 16th June 2013 at Victory Tabernacle Chennai.
No man is perfect, but as believers we all work towards perfection. Pastor taught about certain imperfections that we may be vulnerable and unaware. From 1 Cor 13:9-10 Pastor told that when perfection comes imperfection disappears.
1 Corinthians 13:9-10(NIV)
"9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears."
So its all about discerning the imperfection and allowing the perfection into our lives. Lets take a look at three imperfections that might creep into our lives.
1) Discontentment
Referring to the Scriptures from Ecclesiastes 5:10 (NIV)
"Whoever loves money never has enough;
whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.
This too is meaningless."
Pastor explained that we must always be thankful to God for all he has done in our lives. He also cautioned us on keeping our faith on worldly possessions. He affirmed it with the word from
Proverbs 11:28(NIV)
"Those who trust in their riches will fall,
but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf."
2) Moving on to Proverbs 23:4(NIV)
"Do not wear yourself out to get rich;
do not trust your own cleverness."
Senior Pastor told that wearing ourselves out for the riches of this world is not in the scheme of God.
3) Quoting the Scriptures from Proverbs 3:13-16(NIV) Pastor elaborately explained that we must seek God's wisdom in each one of our lives and learn to value it the most. He also highlighted the blessings that are in store for the people who live by his wisdom.
Whenever there's a problem God always has a solution. So lets take a look at three points that will help us in our journey towards perfection.
1) From Philippians 4:11-12(NIV)
"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."
Pastor told that as believers we must learn to be content and grateful to God for all he has done.
2) We must understand that we are only stewards and God owns everything in this world. These Scriptures explain it better
(a) Haggai 2:8(NIV)
"‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty."
(b) Psalm 50:10(NIV)
"for every animal of the forest is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills."
(c) Leviticus 25:23(NIV)
"The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers."
3) We must confess that everything we have is under the ownership of God until it goes deep into us.

Senior Pastor began a five part study on the topic "FINANCIAL FREEDOM" on 9th June 2013 at Victory Tabernacle, Chennai. Here is a brief excerpt of the "Part 1" of the five part study.
For a man money is essential, but each one of us need to recognize finance is a spiritual issue. All the worldly systems decide everything on MONEY. Referring to the Scriptures from
Mathew 6:24(NIV):
"......You cannot serve both God and money." Senior Pastor told that money was the only object/thing that was equated with God. Quoting the Scriptures from Luke 16:11(NIV)
" So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?"
Senior Pastor affirmed that money is a spiritual issue and had to be dealt spiritually first.
Moving on to Genesis 11 Pastor highlighted the fact that Abraham's place of birth was the 'Ur of Chaldeans'. Chaldeans means misplaced trust. From Ezra 5:12(NIV)
"But because our ancestors angered the God of heaven, he gave them into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar the Chaldean, king of Babylon, who destroyed this temple and deported the people to Babylon."
Pastor told that Nebuchadnezzar was a Chaldean and the King of Babylon where money overflows. In Revelations 14:8(NIV) we see the end of this glorious Babylon
"A second angel followed and said, “‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”
Based on Mathew 6:24(NIV) Pastor explained the three things which we cannot share
"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
1) Devotion: You can either be devoted to God or money but not to both.
2) Master: Either God can be your master or MONEY can be your God.
3) Either God can lead you or money can drive you.
God is interested in our faith and he wants to be our provider. From 1 Timothy 3:4(NIV):
"He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect."
Pastor elaborately explained that we must manage our families in Godly ways.

Here is a brief excerpt of the message given by Rev.Dr.B.M.C.Bakthakumar on 2nd June 2013 at Victory Tabernacle, Chennai.
Science taught that each one of us have two eyes, but actually all of us have three "I's", that's what Pastor said. Well, if you bid to disagree, the time has come to ameliorate your opinion and change your life.
Every one of us have three "I's"
1) Identity
2) Income
3) Influence
Having preached about these three things in earlier days, Pastor elaborated on Identity.
"Who are you?" Many would answer it in a million different ways, but a believer must know that primarily he / she is the CHILD OF GOD.
Referring to the Scriptures from Genesis 33:5 (NIV)
'Then Esau looked up and saw the women and children. “Who are these with you?” he asked. Jacob answered, “They are the children God has graciously given your servant.”
Pastor told that children are the gift of God.
Quoting the Scriptures from Acts 2:39 (NIV)
' The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.'
Pastor told that promises we receive are also for our children.
Mark 10:14 (NIV) says
" When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Now, as we all are supposed to be "CHILDREN" let us see the three basic characteristics of a child.
1) Just like how a child depends on its parents for everything, we must also depend on our heavenly father for everything. It makes him glad.
2) Children lead a care-free life. They don't worry much because of the trust that they have on their parents. God also expects us to be in the same way.
3) Just like a child, we must be innocent. The word says that we are sheep sent among wolves. But our shepherd is mighty to save. Moving on to Rev 21:6,7 (NIV)
"v6-He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
v7- Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children."
Pastor told that someday we will all be children again in our fathers house.

Here is a brief excerpt of the message given by Rev.Dr.B.M.C.Bakthakumar on 26th May 2013 at Victory Tabernacle, Chennai.
The topic of the message was "STOPPING THE BURNOUT"(emotional fatigue). Dwelling on the Scriptures from
2 Cor 11:21-33, Pastor explained how Apostle Paul puts up his defense. Pastor elaborately explained how Paul's own identity, his sacrifices, his work ethics, his authority was questioned and also explained how he overcame the BURNOUT (emotional fatigue) situation in his life.
The present world is full of negativism, it is completely soaked in it. Pastor explained the working of our mind with an illustration of the Pendulum. Our mind goes back in the past, brings things to the present and with its past input tries to work out the future.
There are three ways in which we can avoid burnout (emotional fatigue).
1) Phil 4:6 (NIV)
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Pray in detail. Pour out your heart to God.
2) Phil 4:7 (NIV)
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
When we pray in detail, we will have peace with God and be thankful to him for all he has done in our lives.
3) Phil 4:8 (NIV)
"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
We can program our mind. So program it in such a way that you will have a mind of Christ.
At some point of time, we all come to a breaking point. Its in your hands whether you are going to Breakthrough or Breakdown.
