Matsya Narayana Temple at Uthandi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The unique feature of this temple is the Surya Pooja.
During this time, the sun rays would fall on the Lord in the sanctum sanctorum during the sunset (6 PM to 6.15PM).
This miracle happens only once in a year (i.e) on the 12th, 13th, and 14th Day of the Phalguna month (February – March).
On the first day, the sun rays will fall at the feet of the Lord.
On the second day, the rays would fall on the chest and on the third day, the rays would fall on the forehead.
The sun rays reach the Lord not through the ceiling or any opening in the temple, but from the entrance of the temple.

Surkanda Devi is a Hindu temple near Kanatal, Uttarakhand, India. It is at an altitude of about 2756 metres lies close to nearby hill stations of Dhanaulti and Chamba walking distance of approx 3 kilometres from Kaddukhal, the place where vehicles are parked.

The Ganga Dusshera festival is celebrated every year between May and June and attracts a lot of people.

One of the most persistent origin of worship at the site is associated with the legend of Sati, who was the wife of the ascetic god Shiva and daughter of the Puranic god-king Daksha.

According to various myths and traditions, there are 51 pieces of Sati's body scattered across the Indian subcontinent. These places are called shakti peethas and are dedicated to various powerful goddesses.

When Shiva was passing over this place on his way back to Kailash carrying Sati's body, her head fell at the spot where the modern temple of Sarkunda Devi or Surkhanda Devi stands and due to which the temple's got its name as sirkhanda which in the passage of time is now called sarkunda.

The Amruteshvara temple also spelt "Amrutesvara" or "Amruteshwara", is located in the village of Amruthapura, 67 km north of Chikmagalur town in the Chikkamagaluru district of the Karnataka state, India.

The temple was constructed in the 12th century by the commander Amrutheshwara Dandanayaka, during the rule of Veera Ballala II, the Hoysala King.

The temple is a built according to Hoysala architecture with a wide open mantapa (hall).
The temple has an original outer wall with unique equally spaced circular carvings.

The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva and the shivalinga at the temple is a 300-year-old Trimurti brought from the River Kandikevale in Nepal. The idol of Sharadha Devi sits next to the shiva linga. Some of the important rituals performed at the Amrutesvara temple include Bilva Archane and Kumkuma Archane.

The temple has one vimana (shrine and tower) and therefore is a ekakuta design, and has a closed mantapa (hall) that connects the sanctum to the large open mantapa.

RATNESHWAR MAHADEV "Leaning Temple", also called the Kashi Karvat.❤️

The Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple is situated at Manikarnika Ghat, Varanasi. The temple has developed a nine-degree slant. It is also referred to as Kashi Karvat (Kashi is the ancient name for Varanasi and karvat means leaning in Hindi).

The site of the temple is very unusual. Unlike all other temples in Varanasi on the coast of Ganga, the temple is built at a very low level. In fact, the water level can reach the shikhara part of the temple. This temple leans over 9 degrees.

It is constructed at a very low spot; the builder must have known that its garbhagriha would be underwater for much of the year. In spite of much of the temple being underwater during most of the year, it is well preserved, except for the lean that can be noted in 20th century photos.

🏵️ Leaning Tower of Pisa leans about 4 degrees, less than Ratneshwar Temple which leans at over 9 degrees, yet sadly it is not known in our India only forget about the world.

Virupaksha Temple, Hampi

The very origin of Hampis history as a sacred place revolves around the myths associated with this temple. It believed that this temple has been functioning uninterruptedly ever since its inception in the 7th century AD.That makes this one of the oldest functioning temples in India.

The temple's history is uninterrupted from about the 7th century. The Virupaksha-Pampa sanctuary existed well before the Vijayanagara capital was located here. Inscriptions referring to Shiva date back to the 9th and 10th centuries...

What started as a small shrine grew into a large complex under the Vijayanagara rulers. Evidence indicates there were additions made to the temple in the late Chalukyan and Hoysala periods, though most of the temple buildings are attributed to the Vijayanagar period...

The huge temple building was built in 14th Century by Lakkana Dandesha, a chieftain under the ruler Deva Raya II of the Vijayanagara Empire....

Mahalakshmi Golden Temple, Vellore Tamil Nadu
The temple is located on 100 acres of land and has been constructed by the Vellore-based charitable trust, Sri Narayani Peedam, headed by its spiritual leader Sri Sakthi Amma also known as ‘Narayani Amma’.

Sri Sakthi Amma created a solid idol of Sri Mahalakshmi with gold, weighing about 70 Kgs. Lovingly addressed as Sri Swarna Lakshmi, the idol was cast into a mould within the precincts of Sripuram by a team of highly creative artists specialising in idol casting and hand-etching.

The temple with its gold (15000 kg) covering, has intricate work done by artisans specialising in temple art using gold. Every single detail was manually created, including converting the gold bars into gold foils and then mounting the foils on copper. Gold foil from 9 layers to 10 layers has been mounted on the etched copper plates. Every single detail in the temple art has significance from the vedas.

In Hinduism Lord Shiva is believed to be seated on Mount Kailash’s house. This mountain is synonymous with many other mysteries, to which no one has an answers.

According to ancient beliefs, it is the place where we can find the mysterious city of the gods.

Although Kailash Mountain is not one of the highest of Himalayan range, but scientists are amazed by its mysterious shape and radio-active energies by pyramids around it.

Two beautiful lakes, namely Mansarovar (the god lake) and Rakshas Tal (the devil lake), are located at the base of Mount Kailash. Mansarovar, is considered the highest freshwater body in the world and Rakshas Tal is a salt water one.

There were also several geologists interested in that. The team spent months near Mount Kailash. He also revealed other things that have been a mystery to date and nobody knew about them. Mount Kailash is, according to that squad, a man-made pyramid. He also said there are a lot of supernatural events too.

Dr Muldashif has written that mysterious sounds come from Mount Kailash and Some people still seem to live there today.

It’s also said there is a mysterious state around Mount Kailash called Shambala. Where Siddha and ascetic people still live today.

A monk called Milarepa once traveled far enough to reach the peak of Mount Meru according to a Tibetan legend. When he came back he warned everyone not to bother the God sleeping high up in the top.

Mount Kailash is thought to be the Axis Mundi or celestial pole, earth center, earth pillar, world core, world flower. It is the moment heaven meets earth. Google Maps vouch for the fact’s.

Don’t be surprised if, after returning from your Mount Meru tour, you find your nails or hair grown by many millimetres. Tourists and pilgrims have discovered that the air from this ancient peak speeds up the ageing cycle!

Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The Tunganath is indelibly linked to the origin of the Panch Kedar temples built by the Pandavas.

The Tunganath (Lord of the peaks) mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. It is located at an altitude of 3,470 m (11,385 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila. and is the second(Dwitiya Kedar) in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata.

Lord Shiva and his consort, Parvati both reside in the Himalayas: Lord Shiva resides at Mount Kailash. Parvati is also called Shail Putri, which means 'daughter of hills'.

Legend also states that Lord Rama, the central character of Ramayana, meditated at the Chandrashila peak which is close to Tungnath, in India. It is also said that Ravana performed penance to Shiva, the lord of the peaks, when he resided here.
