Rama ordered Hanuman to bring the lingam from Himalayas. Since it took longer to bring the lingam, Sita built a small lingam out of the sand available in the sea shore, which is believed to be the lingam in the sanctum.🕉🕉

🛕Magnificent Architecture: The Menakshi Temple is renowned for its stunning Dravidian-style architecture. The temple complex spans an area of 14 acres and has 14 towering gopurams (entrance towers) that are adorned with intricate sculptures and carvings depicting various mythological scenes.🛕

🛕Golden Lotus Tank: The temple complex also includes a sacred tank known as the Golden Lotus Tank or Porthamarai Kulam. It is believed that Lord Shiva himself blessed the tank, and taking a dip in its waters is considered auspicious.🛕

🔹️The temple is built on the Kanduka Hill, which is surrounded on three sides by the Arabian Sea. It is considered a holy site because it is believed that Lord Shiva himself appeared here.🔹️

🔹️The main attraction of the temple is a towering 123-feet-tall statue of Lord Shiva in a meditative pose, which is the second-tallest statue of Lord Shiva in the world.🔹️

🔹️The statue of Lord Shiva is surrounded by smaller statues of various gods and goddesses, including Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Hanuman.🔹️
