Cottage Prayer Meeting – 25 August 2026

Today, 25 August 2026, our Cottage Prayer Meeting was graciously hosted by our beloved church member Mr. Joshua Rufus and family at 7.00 pm.

The meeting commenced with the opening prayer offered by Mrs. Eedit Sailas. A heartfelt witness was shared by Mr. Joshua Rufus and Mrs. Pemima Joshua. The Scripture reading from Mark 6:21–44 was read by Mrs. Nesamani Hepziba.

The Word of God was shared by Rev. Dr. Sailas Gnanadoss, who beautifully highlighted two significant incidents from the Scripture—*a sorrowful incident and a joyous act*.

1. The life of John the Baptist, a righteous man who boldly spoke the truth. Despite his honesty and righteousness, he was beheaded by King Herod. Yet, his life continues to inspire us because of his faithfulness and commitment to what is right. As mentioned in Matthew 11:11, Jesus Himself spoke of the greatness of John the Baptist among those born of women.

2. The joyous miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand. In earlier times, providing a great feast for people was often associated with kings. In this passage, we see how Jesus used the humble offering of five loaves and two fish to feed a multitude of five thousand people. This reminds us of the abundant provision and compassionate love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The meeting was blessed with the presence of many church members, and it was truly a wonderful time of prayer, fellowship, and spiritual nourishment for everyone.

மையக்கருத்து: தூய்மை

① இறைவனைச் சார்ந்த தூய்மை

அகசியா அரசன் இறைவனை நாடாமல் பிற தெய்வத்திடம் வழிகாட்டுதலைத் தேடினான். எலியா அவனுடைய தவறைத் துணிவுடன் எடுத்துரைத்தான். உண்மையான தூய்மை என்பது இறைவனை முழுமையாகச் சார்ந்து, அவருடைய வழியில் நடப்பதில் தொடங்குகிறது.

② உள்ளத்தின் தூய்மை

பரிசேயரும் மறைநூல் அறிஞர்களும் வெளிப்புறச் சடங்குகளையும் கைகளைக் கழுவுவதையும் முக்கியமாகக் கருதினர். ஆனால் இயேசு, மனிதனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்துவது வெளியில் இருந்து வருவதல்ல; அவனுடைய உள்ளத்திலிருந்து வெளிப்படும் தீய எண்ணங்களே என்று கற்பித்தார். எனவே, வெளித்தூய்மையைவிட உள்ளத்தூய்மையே இறைவனுக்கு முன்பாக முதன்மையானது.

③ வாழ்வின் தூய்மை

தீய எண்ணங்கள் உள்ளத்தில் உருவாகி, பின்னர் சொற்களிலும் செயல்களிலும் வெளிப்படுகின்றன. ஆகையால், நம் உள்ளத்தை இறைவார்த்தையால் நாள்தோறும் சீரமைத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். தூய உள்ளத்திலிருந்து தூய சொற்களும் தூய செயல்களும் பிறக்கின்றன.

🕊️ முடிவுரை

தூய்மை என்பது வெளிப்புறச் சடங்குகளால் மட்டும் அளவிடப்படுவதல்ல; இறைவனைச் சார்ந்த தூய உள்ளத்திலும், அவருடைய வழியில் நடக்கும் தூய வாழ்விலும் அது வெளிப்படுகிறது. நம் உள்ளத்தை இறைவனிடம் ஒப்படைத்து, அவருடைய வார்த்தையால் நாள்தோறும் புதுப்பிக்கப்படுவோமாக. ஆமென்.

Women’s retreat - A Blessed and Spiritually Enriching Retreat

Our Women’s Retreat was held at our church on 23rd August 2026, from 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. It was indeed a blessed one-day retreat filled with spiritual enrichment, fellowship, learning and joyful participation.

We were blessed to have Rev. Dhavaseeli, Presbyter of CSI St. Mary’s Church, Fort St. George, who shared the Word of God and ministered to the gathering.

During the retreat, our newly elected Pastorate Committee Secretary, Mr. B. Joshva Dinakaran, and Pastorate Committee Treasurer, Mr. G. Rajakumar, were honoured by our Iyeramma Mrs. Nalini Martin, along with the Women’s Fellowship office bearers.

The day was also filled with exciting and meaningful activities. A choreography competition, with teams of four women participating together, brought great enthusiasm and joy. A special Bible Quiz was conducted by Mrs. Hannah Shirley Martin, daughter of our Presbyter Chairman, Rev. Martin J. Philip Iyyah based on the books of 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings and 2 Kings.

It was truly a blessed and enriching day, bringing the women of our church together in God’s Word, fellowship, learning and joyful participation. We thank God for His presence and blessings throughout the retreat. 🙏

*ஆண்டவரே, எங்கள் அனைவரையும், உம்மை நோக்கிப் பார்ப்பவர்களாகவும், உமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறவர்களாகவும், உம்முடைய வேலைகளச் செய்ய காத்திருப்பவர்களாகவும் மாற்றவேண்டும் என்று ஜெபிக்கிறோம்.*

*தேவனே, எங்கள் எண்ணங்களைச் சுத்திகரித்து, எங்கள் இருதயங்களில் உமக்கு எதிராக நாங்கள் சுமந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் ஆசைகள் அனைத்தையும் நீக்கிவிடவேண்டும் என்று ஜெபிக்கிறோம்.*

Installation of the New Pastorate Committee 2026-2029

23rd August 2026, during the 8.30 a.m. service, the newly elected and nominated members of the Pastorate Committee were prayerfully installed.

Following the Pastorate Committee Election, the newly elected team unanimously selected Mr. B. Joshva Dinakaran as the Pastorate Committee Secretary and Mr. G. Rajakumar as the Pastorate Committee Treasurer.

The Pastorate Committee members are:

Mr. K. Immanuel, Mr. B. Joshva Dinakaran, Mr. G. Rajakumar, Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Ancy Babitha, Mrs. Gomathi, Mrs. Sonia, Mrs. Vinosheela, Miss Angeline R, Mr. Ebenazer, Mr. Joshua Manuel and Mr. Stephen Bernard.

Mr. Charles Sargunan was co-opted by the committee, while Dr. Selvasingh Richard and Mrs. Leena Kanmani were nominated by our beloved Presbyter & Chairman, Rev. Martin J. Philip Iyyah.

Our beloved Presbyter and Chairman, Rev. Martin J. Philip Iyyah, prayed for and installed the new 15-member Pastorate Committee, seeking God's wisdom, guidance and blessings upon each member as they take up this important responsibility.

We wholeheartedly wish and pray that this Pastorate Committee will achieve many more milestones together and lead our beloved CSI Yesu Anbar Aalayam towards becoming an even more spiritual, inspiring and God-fearing church.

May the Lord bless each and every member and use them mightily for His ministry and for the growth of His Church.

Women’s Sunday Service | 23.08.2026

Today, 23rd August 2026, we celebrated Women’s Sunday in our church. The entire service was beautifully led by our Women’s Fellowship under the guidance of our beloved Presbyter, Rev. Martin J. Philip Iyyah,and Mrs. Nalini Martin (Iyer Amma), Convener, Women’s Board, CSI Madras Diocese.

The Women’s Fellowship rendered the CSI Madras Diocese Theme Song as a special song. The song was dedicatedly taught and coached by our church Secretary, Mr. B. Joshva Dinakaran, under the leadership and guidance of Mrs. Nalini Martin. Music Er. Angelin Ravikumar

Sermon Theme: “Rise & Raise”

The sermon was beautifully rendered by Mrs. Nalini Martin. She explained that “Rise” represents God’s call, while “Raise” is our personal response and decision to get up and act according to His call.

She reflected upon the lives of three inspiring women from the Bible:

1. *Deborah* - The prophetess and judge was strong in the Lord. While Barak saw the mighty opposition with its 900 iron chariots, Deborah looked to God and received victory. Like a rising sun, Deborah brought hope and leadership, and Israel experienced peace for 40 years.

2. *Tabitha (Dorcas)* – A faithful disciple of Jesus and a skilled tailor, Tabitha was devoted to good works and acts of charity. Through her generosity and service, she cared for those in need. Her life reminds us that we too are called to be generous and helpful to others.

3. *Mary Magdalene* – A woman of strength and faith, she was among the first to witness the risen Christ and share the Good News. Her life reminds us that *our past does not define our future*. Her perseverance through sorrow and faithfulness during difficult times reflect the strength displayed by so many women and mothers every day.

Let us all trust in God and rise like Deborah, be generous like Tabitha, and remain persevering and faithful like Mary Magdalene.

It was truly a blessed, joyful and enthusiastic service, beautifully led by our Women’s Fellowship. May God continue to empower every woman to Rise and Raise for His glory!
