On the occassion of Madhu Purnima devotee's had organised a Puja at Dhamma Deepa Buddha Vihar, Bijoypur-I. During the puja religious teacher of its vihar had preached to devotee's.

The Honey-offering Festival is a Buddhist religious ceremony that commemorates the service and sustenance provided by animals to the Buddha during his 10th rains retreat at Parileyya Forest. According to legend, during his retreat a monkey brought a honeycomb for the Buddha to eat, while an elephant brought fruit and protected the Buddha from fierce animals.

When the Buddha accepted the gift of the honeycomb, the monkey, overjoyed, began to leap from tree to tree, but suffered a deadly fall in his reckless jubilation.

Dear Devotees,

This is to inform you that DHAMMA DEEPA BUDDHA VIHAR, BIJOYPUR-1 will organised a special religious event for the Buddhist tradition known as Kathina Civara Daana on 8th October 2025 (Wednesday).

The Kathina Civara Daana marks the end of the three-month "Vassa" or rainy season retreat, a significant period observed by Buddhist monks and nuns. It is a time for lay followers to express gratitude and support for the Sangha (the monastic community) by offering new robes and other essential requisites.

This event is a beautiful opportunity to come together as a community, participate in a revered Buddhist tradition, and make merit.

Your presence and participation would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to celebrate this auspicious occasion with you.
