Happy feast of St. Jean Vianney, the Cure d'Ars and patron saint of priests! This humble man was known to spend up to 18 hours a day in the confessional, and his care for souls, especially those struggling to know God's will for them, was so great that thousands of people would visit him every year, despite the town of Ars being so tiny that only a few people lived there. .
Pray today through St. Jean Vianney's intercession for the priests of our Diocese of Baton Rouge, our Bishop-designate Michael Duca, and for the priests and bishops of the world, particularly in the present time. Pray that St. Jean's humility and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament will be renewed in the heart of clergy worldwide for the sake of souls. Pray also for all those courageously discerning formation toward diocesan or religious priesthood. May they be invigorated with the love of Christ that compels them toward self-sacrifice and a life lived for the sake of the holiness of all souls.

most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.
