കേരളത്തിലെ പുരാതനമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നായ പരശുരാമന്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ച 108 ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നും ആയ ഈ മഹാദേവര്‍ ക്ഷേത്രം അവിടുത്തെ പ്രത്യേകത നിറഞ്ഞ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകള്‍ കൊണ്ടും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത് ആണ്. കേരളത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ നാള്‍ വഴികളുമായി ഇഴ പിരിയാത്ത വിധം ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു കിടക്കുന്നു. The temple is famous by its built having separate flagposts for each deity SIVA and his son GANESHA. Temple is well known for God Ganesha.
