Months of dreams, countless rehearsals, sleepless nights, and an unwavering faith in art have finally found their destination. Katha Satyajit is our humble tribute to the timeless genius of Satyajit Ray and Rabindranath Tagore, a celebration of cinema, literature, music, theatre, and the enduring spirit

The prestigious production Katha Satyajit, to be presented at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, on 7th and 8th August 2026, from 5:30 p.m. onwards, as part of the Satyajit–Tagore Festival.

Conceived and directed by Mrs. Amrita Ganguly, this landmark production by Kalibari Chandigarh is a rare theatrical tribute to the extraordinary creative universe of Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury, Sukumar Ray, and Satyajit Ray.

The festival also pays homage to Rabindranath Tagore, whose literary genius profoundly shaped Ray’s artistic vision and whose timeless humanism continues to inspire generations.

The festival will commence on 7th August at 5:00 p.m. with the inauguration of the Satyajit–Tagore Art Gallery, an immersive visual celebration of the literary, cinematic, artistic, and philosophical legacy of these two towering cultural icons. The gallery will remain open throughout the two-day festival.

Through dramatic excerpts, choreography, music, narration, poetry, and visual metaphors, Katha Satyajit presents a remarkable journey across the worlds of The Apu Trilogy, Charulata, Ghare Baire, Jalsaghar, Nayak, Devi, Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne, Hirak Rajar Deshe, Feluda, and many more unforgettable creations. More than a theatrical production, it is a living dialogue between literature, cinema, music, and humanity, an exploration of identity, memory, freedom, satire, compassion, and the enduring spirit of Indian culture.

We cordially invite you, your family, and your friends to be part of this unique cultural celebration and witness a theatrical experience never before attempted in the Tricity.

Please note: This is only the e-invitation. Printed invitation cards will be dispatched to your last known postal address during the coming week.

We look forward to welcoming you to this celebration of art, heritage, and the timeless legacies of Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Ray.

PLZ DO COME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO WITNESS A RARE CULTURAL PRESENTATION. Regards Rajesh Roy Gen.Secy.Kalibari Chandigarh

The visit of Swami Vimalatmananda (vice president, Ramakrishna math and mission Belur) to the Kalibari Temple, Chandigarh unfolded with a quiet intensity that belied its brevity.

During his short stay, his presence moved with contemplative grace across the Ramakrishna Temple, the Shiva Temple, and the Mother Kali Temple, as though tracing a living continuum of devotion. His address to the gathered devotees did not rely on ornamentation; it was lucid, inward, and deeply stirring, leaving behind not an echo, but a resonance that seemed to settle into the collective consciousness of the thousands present, lending the occasion a rare and enduring dignity.
