A false narrative by Jaspal Sidhu on the Facebook about the Seminar dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak being organized by the Institute of Sikh Studies (IOSS), Chandigarh on 19th October 2019 has been doing the rounds on the internet. It has been alleged that "RSS man" Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi would be the main speaker in the Seminar.
While it is correct that Dr Harmohinder Singh Bedi was asked to send his Keynote Address for perusal before finalization, as were other Speakers. It is wholly misconceived to state that his name had been finalized as the main speaker. The suggestion that Sangh Parivar sympathizers are infiltrating the IOSS is an attempt to denigrate the Institute which has always been in the forefront of projecting the unique and separate Sikh identity and way of life. Such mischievious attempts will never succeed and will be suitably repulsed.
