The Hon’ble MLA of Champdani, the Hon’ble Chairman of Champdani Municipality, Hon'ble Vice Chairman and a few councillors visited the Champdani Muslim Burial Ground at Lichu Bagan on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat.

During the visit, the Burial Ground Committee apprised them of the long-pending developmental issues, particularly the severe flooding during burial processes, which has caused immense hardship and distress to bereaved families. The root cause of this persistent problem was also clearly explained.

The Committee urged the authorities to urgently expedite the long-pending re-excavation of the pond inside the burial ground to permanently address waterlogging, and to initiate the construction of a proper hall for burial ground staff and visitors, equipped with basic amenities such as Wudu facilities, toilets, and urinals.

Both leaders assured their cooperation and support in addressing these long-standing issues.
