During that period of time 11th Merag Lama, Thupten Kelden Rinpoche (presently H.H. the 12th Guru Tulku Rinpoche) administered this Monastery. The monastery has the statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, Master Padmasambhava, and Tsong Khapa and so forth. By the time of constructing this monastery it was build with mud, stone and wood materials without any cement. Even the wall paints of the monastery were
obtained from stone. There were only few monks then and the monastery has few rooms and a Mani Prayer Wheel. This monastery has been an important religious place for performing circumambulating and prostration by the local people. Especially in olden days there were large numbers of devotees coming here in the monastery to provide ritual offering ‘Ser-kyem’ for deity Palden Lhamo and to light lamps. And then eventually new monks started to join the Monastery from the end of year 1970. However, due to lack of good resources the Monastery couldn’t progress further. In year 1966 reverend Thupten Kalden Rinpoche (the 11th Guru Tulku Rinpoche) passed away and the present 12th reincarnation was recognized by Hiss Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1972. Guru Tulku Rinpoche did his studies in Dharamshala and finally obtained the higher Geshe Degree. From then onwards each year, Hiss Holiness the Guru Tulku Rinpoche teaches the public Buddha, Dharma, love and compassion. Some times we also render prayer ceremonies for World Peace. During the auspicious religious days every time around twenty elderly people come to chant the Mani Mantra with our monks. Our monastery also holds sixteen days Fasting Practice once in a year during the Sakadawa (Visaka) festival. During this occasion many yongstars boys and girls attend the fasting practice. Presently there are about 70 monks who regularly studying Buddhist Philosophy in the monastery. There are still many others who wish to join the monastery and learn Buddha Dharma. Unfortunately the monastery is facing great difficulty of shortage of rooms to facilitate them. On top of that the monastery lacks adequate resource to meet the food expenses even for the presently existing monks. Most of the monks currently abiding in the monastery are from poor families. Due to such reasons until now beside the assistance from the monastery they don’t have any other source. The monastery meets their needs through the donations made by faithful and generous contributors. In the end perceiving the poor condition of our monastery, if anyone wishes to give us support, we warmly welcome you and assure you of the good use of your generous help. With thanks,
Truly,
