*Bhikkhuni Dhamma Vinaya Training*

*The bhikkhuni order in India has virtually no resources for training in the Dhamma Vinaya! However, training the bhikkhunis is essential for the perpetuation of the Buddha's teachings and for the upliftment of women in particular. To this end, online Dhamma Vinaya training in English has been initiated every Monday and Thursday since last week, and offline Dhamma Vinaya training has been conducted every Friday at Mahaprajapati Gautami Nunnery, Nagarjuna Colony, Nagpur. This will undoubtedly foster unity and harmony within the bhikkhuni order, in addition to the Dhamma Vinaya.*

*This online training will be conducted by Bhikkhuni Lieu Phap from Vietnam, Bhikkhuni Dhamma Vijjani from Thailand, Bhikkhuni Santini from Indonesia, and Bhikkhuni Bodhicitta from Australia. And offline, this same training will be given in Hindi by Bhikkhuni Sakya Dhammadinna!*

Dear Venerables,

🎉Good News! Good News! Good News!🎉

We are pleased to inform you that the 🧑‍💻Online Theravāda Bhikkhuni and Samaneri Training Program🧑‍💻 will be starting this Monday. This meaningful initiative has been taken by the Bhikkhuni Sangha of 🌷United Theravada Bhikkhuni Sangha International (UTBSI)🌷.

Kindly read the details of the program carefully:

Course Structure
👉Elementary Course – 3 months

👉Intermediate Course – 3 months

👉Advanced Course – 3 months

Medium of Instruction
🧑‍🏫English (Online)
🧑‍🏫Hindi (Offline)

The English classes will be conducted by senior Bhikkhunis of UTBSI. The Hindi classes will be taken by Bhikkhuni Sākya Dhammadinnā at Mahapajapati Gotami Bhikkhuni Vihara, Nagpur.

With deep joy and gratitude, we celebrate the great success of the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | , held from 6–10 March 2026 in Bodhgaya at the sacred grounds of the Maha Bodhi Society of India .

Centered on the timely and vital theme, “Bhikkhuni Education in Action,” that covers from the timely Dhamma-Vinaya effective practices to AI and leadership, the conference brought together an inspiring global community of bhikkhunis, samaneris, scholars, and supporters from eleven countries dedicated to strengthening education, unity, and the future of the Theravada Bhikkhuni Sangha.

Over these meaningful days, firstly, participants engaged in collective aspiration for the development of a united Theravada bhikkhuni Sangha at the Mahabodhi Temple and Mahabodhi Tree where the Buddha attained Enlightenment. Later, the auspicious Opening of WBSA was held at Mahabodhi Society of India.

With two days conference and three days post conference training, Bhikkhunis and samaneris, invited bhikkhu speakers and scholars engaged in rich learning, inspiring dialogue, shared lived experiences, and explored practical pathways to empower Bhikkhuni education across traditions and countries. The assembly stood as a powerful testament to collective wisdom, compassion, and resilience—especially uplifting for Bhikkhunis and Samaneris worldwide, and most significantly for those in India, where such initiatives provide much-needed support and opportunity. We also witnessed and welcome the going forth of three Indian samaneris - to embark on the noble spiritual journey with proper guidance and training.

This remarkable gathering was made possible through the vision and collaboration of the United Theravada Bhikkhuni Sangha International (UTBSI), Mahabodhi Society of India and Bodhipakkhiya Dhamma Foundation. In daily routine, participants were immersed in proper Pali Chanting - reflecting the Buddha's sermon, guided meditation, receiving offering of meals, listening to presentation, lively Dhamma discussion and application, pindapata offering by school children and devotees, active educational skill empowerment and evening recollections.

Heartfelt thanks to Ven. P. Seewalee Mahathero (India), Ven. Satimanta Mahathero (Sweden) and senior bhikkhunis - Ven. Dhammashanthi Mahatheri (Sri Lanka), Ven. Lieu Phap Mahatheri (Vietnam), Ven. Dhammavijjani Theri(Thailand), Ven. Sumangala Theri (Malaysia), Ven. Sakya Dhammadinna & Ven. Vandana (India) and on-line Ven. Santini Mahatheri (Indonesia) & Ven. Bodhicitta Theri (Australia) and all Dhamma speakers, paper presenters from USA (Sis. Wangmo Dixey), Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, organizers, volunteers, and generous donors whose contributions ensured the success of this historic event. Special appreciation to UTBSI representatives for your presence, both onsite and online, and for your unwavering dedication.
May this noble initiative continue to flourish, nurturing wisdom, compassion, and equality within the Bhikkhuni Sangha for generations to come.
