_"And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting."_

*Message*

During the reign of King Ahasuerus, who ruled over 127 provinces from India to Ethiopia, a wicked plot was devised by Haman to destroy all the Jews (Esther 3). Humanly speaking, there seemed to be no hope. The laws of the Persian kingdom were so strict that anyone—even the queen—who approached the king without being summoned could be put to death unless the king extended his golden sceptre.

Queen Esther understood that this battle could not be won by human wisdom, influence, or courage alone. Before stepping into the king's presence, she called for all the Jews in Shushan to unite in fasting and prayer for three days. They recognized that God's intervention was their only hope. Through prayer and fasting, God turned what seemed to be certain destruction into a great victory for His people.

This account reminds us that there are battles which cannot be overcome by our own strength. There are situations, temptations, spiritual strongholds, and obstacles that require us to seek God earnestly through both prayer and fasting. Jesus Himself taught that certain spiritual battles are overcome only through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29).

Fasting does not manipulate God, but it humbles us before Him, sharpens our spiritual sensitivity, strengthens our dependence on Him, and aligns our hearts

*Topic: Honesty in Financial Matters*

“The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with Him.” — Proverbs 11:1 (NIV)

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” — Luke 16:10 (NIV)

“Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much.” — Luke 16:10a (ESV)

God is not only concerned about how much money we have but also about how we obtain it, manage it, and use it. Honesty in financial matters is an expression of our love for God and our commitment to live according to His Word. Integrity is not measured by the amount of money involved but by the condition of our hearts.

The Bible teaches that God delights in honest dealings and rejects every form of dishonesty, whether it is cheating, lying, stealing, manipulating prices, keeping what is not ours, or failing to repay what we owe. While the world often encourages shortcuts to gain wealth, God’s Kingdom is built on righteousness, faithfulness, and integrity.

As students, we are often entrusted with allowances, school fees, borrowed money, group contributions, and other resources. These may seem like small responsibilities, but Jesus reminds us that those who are faithful in little will also be faithful in much. The habits we build today prepare us for the greater responsibilities God will entrust to us tomorrow.

Honesty also means being content with God’s provision instead of comparing ourselves with others or pursuing money through wrong means. When we honor God with integrity, we invite His favor, peace, and blessing into our lives. A clear conscience before God is worth far more than dishonest gain.

As faithful stewards, let us remember that everything we possess ultimately belongs to God. May our financial decisions reflect His character and bring glory to His name.

*Reflection* (Practical Steps to Grow):

1. Examine Your Heart
Ask yourself if there are any areas where you have been dishonest with money, no matter how small. Confess them to God and choose integrity.

2. Be Faithful with What God Has Given You
Manage your allowance, gifts, or income wisely. Faithfulness in small things prepares you for greater blessings.

3. Avoid Every Form of Dishonest Gain
Never cheat, steal, exaggerate expenses, misuse funds, or keep what belongs to someone else.

4. Practice Accountability
If you handle money on behalf of others, keep accurate records and remain transparent in all your dealings.

5. Trust God as Your Provider
When financial needs arise, depend on God rather than compromising your integrity. His provision never requires dishonesty.

*_Topic: Avoid Wasteful Spending_*

_Scripture Reference:_
Proverbs 21:20; John 6:12; Luke 16:10

Brethren, God is deeply concerned with how we handle what He has placed in our hands. As students, we may not feel like we have “much,” but stewardship begins right where we are.

*Proverbs 21:20 says* :
_"Precious treasure and oil are in a wise person’s dwelling, but a foolish person devours it."_
The Bible contrasts wisdom and foolishness here. A wise person preserves and plans. A foolish person “devours” — spends without thinking, until nothing is left. Wasteful spending is not just a financial issue, it is a heart issue.

*Jesus Himself modeled this in John 6:12 after feeding the 5,000* :
_"Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted."_
If Jesus, who could create bread from nothing, still told the disciples to gatuher leftovers, how much more should we be careful with the little we have? Nothing is too small to be managed well.

*Luke 16:10 also reminds us:*
_"Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much."_
God watches how we handle our hostel allowance, our data bundles, our offerings. When we avoid waste, we prove to God that we can be trusted with greater provision and responsibility.

As students, wasteful spending often looks like: impulse food orders, buying things we don’t need, airtime and data we never use, lending without a plan to pay back. Wisdom calls us to pause, pray, and plan before we spend.

Avoiding waste is also an act of gratitude. It says, “Lord, thank You for what You’ve given me. I will not throw it away.”

Take time today to examine yourself before God.
1. Do I have a habit of spending first and regretting later?
2. Are there areas where I am “devouring” what God has given me instead of preserving it?
3. What is one unnecessary expense I can cut out this week?
4. How can I honor God with even my small allowance and resources?
5. Am I treating my money as God’s money, or just as “my own”?

1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and self-control in spending.

*Topic: Budgeting* *Wisely*

*Scripture Reference:*
Luke 14:28; Proverbs 21:5
Brethren, one of the principles God teaches throughout Scripture is the importance of planning wisely. Good stewardship is not only about earning money but also about managing the resources God has entrusted to us with wisdom and discipline.

Jesus said in Luke 14:28:
"For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?"
This verse teaches us that planning is a godly principle. Before beginning any task, Jesus encourages us to first count the cost. This applies not only to building projects but also to how we manage our finances, time, and other resources.

Proverbs 21:5 also reminds us:
"The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty."
Many financial struggles are not caused by a lack of income alone but by a lack of planning. Without a budget, it is easy to spend impulsively, neglect important responsibilities, and eventually find ourselves in unnecessary debt or financial stress.
As students and young believers, budgeting teaches us self-control and contentment. It helps us distinguish between our needs and our wants. While there is nothing wrong with enjoying God's blessings, wisdom requires that we spend according to our priorities and within our means.

Budgeting is also an act of faithfulness. When we carefully manage what God has given us, we demonstrate that we can be trusted with greater responsibilities. God honors those who are faithful with little, and wise financial stewardship prepares us for future blessings.
A good budget should include our essential needs, savings where possible, generosity toward God's work and those in need, and careful planning for future expenses. Rather than spending first and hoping everything will work out, believers should prayerfully plan and ask God for wisdom in every financial decision.

Contentment Over Comparison*

Scripture:- Hebrews 13 vs 5

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[5] Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

(We see here a comparison in regards to possession)

*Defination of terms:*

°Contentment - satisfied/ pleased with what one has or posesses
° Comparison - making an assessment between variables
- giving value to what you have by standards of another.

From the scripture above, the word of God commends to be content (satisfied) with what we have for God said ' Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

When one is content with something they acknowledge what they have and are satisfied by it not seeing it lacking nor requiring addition or subtraction but enough. Contentment gives birth to gratitude and Thanksgiving, opening room for blessings.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes, but whatever that may be he knows what is best for us

(Luke 16 vs 10 - 13 )
Here we learn that those that are faithful with little more shall be added unto them

Also Matthew 6 : 20 - 24
Makes us understand that where our treasures are, there our heart shall be, so if we are not content with what God gives we will begin to seek it somewhere else and turn out hearts away.

*Comparison*
One looks at what they have and look at what another has the either
¹ Desire what the other person has
² Take pride in what they have

This gives birth to :-
- jealousy
- greed(wanting more than u have)
- covetousness
- bitterness
- wrath and anger
- malice
(James 4 vs 2)

It is however important to note that comparison with wisdom brings out positive outcomes of correction, guidance and building ( although comparison, not of possession)(refer to Galatians 6 vs 4)(testing oneself accordingly to scriptures)

So to conclude it is important to understand that Jehovah, Our God is the source of all things a man needs(1 Corinthians 8 vs 6)
He is the rewarder of all, we only need to ask, seek and knock

Do not compare what you have with what others have because all things happen for a reason, but rather give thanks for all that the Lord gives, only he knows what is best for us.

Philippians 4 vs 11-12
Whether we have or do not,,the will see us through is well ask, believe and remain faithful.

Sometimes we do not have, because what we want might cause us harm, distraction or keep us away from the Lord

And we might have as a test (parable of the talents)

*Example:-*
You have a full wardrobe of clothes and shoes but you look at your friend who has more or a different style of dressing than you. You begin to want to dress like them but do not have the financial means.What will happen is you might resort to some unscrupulous means to get the same or you develop jealousy, then hate and begin to criticize.The word of God tells we ought not to worry on these things for they're temporary and the Lord can provide. There is someone out there lacking half of that wardrobe so be grateful.

🕊️ Message/Word

One of the greatest truths every believer must understand is that God is the Owner of everything. Psalm 24:1 reminds us that the entire earth and everything in it belongs to the Lord. Our lives, talents, possessions, careers, opportunities, finances, and even the breath we breathe are gifts entrusted to us by God.

Haggai 2:8 further declares that all silver and gold belong to Him. This means that God is never limited by earthly resources. He is the Source of every blessing, and He provides according to His perfect will and purpose. Whatever we possess is not ultimately ours—it has been entrusted to us to glorify Him and advance His Kingdom.

Understanding God's ownership changes our perspective. Instead of living with pride, greed, or anxiety, we become faithful stewards who manage His resources wisely. We learn to give generously, serve selflessly, and trust Him completely, knowing that the One who owns everything is also our loving Father.

When we acknowledge God as the Owner, we stop depending solely on our own strength and begin to rely on His limitless provision. As Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:33, when we seek God's Kingdom first, He faithfully provides everything we truly need.

May we continually remember that we are not owners but stewards, called to honour God with all He has placed in our hands.
