Methodist Church in India:
Methodist Church was started by Rev. John Wesley in 1703 in London. It spread to America and the Methodist Episcopal Church was Started at Baltimore for the whole world. Later on it bifurcated into different areas and Methodist Church in Southern Asia including India was started. Later it was again bifurcated into countries and Methodist Church in India was born in 1982.

Methodist Church had taken the task of educating the poor in India. There are 15 educational institutions in Belagavi started dating back to 1832.
