Personalized Scriptural Prayers:
All through the Epistles written by the Apostle Paul, we find Paul being inspired by the Holy Spirit to pray certain prayers for the churches. Most of these reflect the Holy Spirit’s desire to prepare the Church for Christ’s return.
However, Paul didn't pray these prayers only for the Church at Ephesus. These prayers apply to us today just as much as they did to the believers at Ephesus, Philippi, Colossi, Thessalonica and Jerusalem because they were given by the Holy Spirit.
We are the church of 2024. We are the Body of Christ on the earth today.
If Paul had to pray it for the churches in those days, we need to pray these for ourselves today. We personalize it by including ourselves in these prayers.
Ephesians 1:17-23
17 Father in heaven, I pray that the God of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You:
18 The eyes of my understanding being enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of Your calling, and what the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in me, a saint,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward me who believe, according to the working of Your mighty power,
20 Which You wrought in Christ, when You raised Christ from the dead, and set him at Your own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under Jesus’ feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is me, His body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
In Jesus name. Amen.
Ephesians 3:14-21
14 Father in heaven, I bow my knees unto You, the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That You would grant me, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with might by Your Spirit in my inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in my heart by faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that I might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto You who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that I ask or think, according to the power that worketh in me,
21 Unto You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. In Jesus name. Amen.
Philippians 1:9-11
9 Father in heaven, I pray, that my love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
10 That I may approve things that are excellent; that I may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. In Jesus name. Amen
Colossians 1:9-14
9 Father in heaven, I do not cease to pray for myself, and to desire that I might be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That I might walk worthy of You, my Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto You, my Father, who hath made me meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered me from the power of darkness, and hath translated me into the kingdom of Your dear Son:
14 In whom I have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
In Jesus name. Amen
Colossians 4:2-6
2 Father in heaven, I continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
3 that God would open unto me a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ,
4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let my speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that I may know how I ought to answer every man.
In Jesus name. Amen.
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
11 Father in heaven, I pray that You would count me worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of Your goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of my Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in me, and I in him, according to the grace of my God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Jesus name. Amen.
Hebrews 13:20-21
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead my Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make me perfect in every good work to do Your will, working in me that which is wellpleasing in Your sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. In Jesus name.
