Ros na kahu sang karo aapan aap bichaar (ang 259)

Ros - anger
Kahu sang - with anyone
Aapan - yourself
Bichaar - contemplate

Don't fight or get angry at others; contemplate within yourself to see where you went wrong.

--------

Before reaching the gas station, I had already prepared a thousand in hundred bills to give for the gas.
I handed over the money to the attendant and he walked away to fill it up.
After a minute he came back and said there were only nine notes. One was missing.

I said "No I gave ten, you should have counted before leaving the spot.
He said "I swear they will only nine I wouldn't cheat you."

I said "well neither would I cheat you what do you think I am a liar?"

He said "I didn't say that, you are calling yourself a liar."

The debate went on and on it became a little heated. Just then, I glanced on the note that had fallen between the door and my seat.

"Oops!" I thought in my mind "it must have dropped there while handing him the money. Now what do I do? Should I just admit that I was wrong?"

The mind said "well this guy is so rude, he could have talked to you nicely. If you surrender right now it will make you look like a fool so don't give up.
And isn't it his fault that he didn't count the money before leaving the spot?"

I took out another 100 note from my pocket and handed over to him acting as if I am the bigger person and am giving it to him in disgust.
I drove away looking greater but internally I knew I had become very small in my own eyes.

Do you know that moment when you know that you could be wrong but you can't give up?
I wish I could have just picked up that note and said "I'm so sorry it just fell down you were right I was wrong."

But your ego would rather blame the whole world but yourself?
There are so many such moments in life when internally you feel, you hear a voice that says "no you are wrong."
Even when you have someone point out to you about your belief that doesn't make sense to you... Yet you hang in there with your mistakes, with your prejudices, stupidness just to be able to win a war that doesn't make sense.

We grew up so many years and yet we are internally just like a child who does not know how to lose.

Shabad ratey meethey ras eekh (ang 152)

Shabad - wisdom from the words
Ratey - imbued
Meethey - sweet
Ras - juice
Eekh - sugarcane

Those who have taken the essence of the Shabbad, become sweet like the juice of sugarcane.

--------

The art of eating food is something we picked as we were growing up.
We taste something and then take it in, knowing that the food that will benefit our body.

That little pause in the mouth is important.
The chewing of the food, relishing the taste gives a little time to digest the food in the mouth so that it's not too heavy on the stomach.

Words need a little time to be in your mouth before leaving.
You know that moment before you say everything that comes to mind?
Just like the food benefits or harms your body, words benefit or harm the listeners and hence the relations.
Easier to control the food that goes inside the stomach, tougher to filter the words that come out.

Both require an awakening. If we want to be healthier, we need to check on our intake. If we want to have better relations and not repent over the words we have used, we need to take a moment before we say things.

Literally take a moment and slowly you'll notice that the filter works and you don't end up blurring out everything.

Jaisa sevae taisa hoye (ang 223)

Jaisa - as
Sevae - serve
Taisa - that's how
Hoye - become

As they serve, so do they become.

-----

An old story tells of a woman who dreams every night that she is being chased, throughout a big haunted house, by a hulking monster.
Night after night, the hideous thing runs after her, its breath like acid on the back of her neck...

It all seems so real...

Finally one night, the dream begins again, but this time the beast corners the poor terrified woman, and just as it's about to tear her apart, the woman finds her voice and shrieks:

"What are you! Why are you chasing me! What will you do to me!"

At that, the monster stops, straightens up, and with a puzzled expression, puts its hands on its hips and says, "How should I know? It's your dream."

------

Whether it is your dream or your thoughts, 'it's all in your head'.
The monsters are directed by you, they either guard the temple in your creation or they devastate your entire world.

But the monsters are nothing beyond your perceptual constancy.

Who you serve, becomes your reality.
If you serve joyous thoughts, that would eventually become your reality.
If you serve misery, that's what will be provided.
Think positively, sleep well, dreams will be taken care of.
