The Syro Malankara Catholic Major Archiepiscopal Church is one of the four individual Churches of the Universal Catholic Church in India. Its members are spread all over India, USA, Middle East, Far East, Europe and Canada. As part of its service to humanity, the Malankara Catholic Church is engaged in providing quality education through a number of schools, Colleges and professional institutions.
It provides free education to the economically weaker sections of the society. Though the Malankara Catholic Congregation was in existence in the city of Bangalore right from the early days of the historical re-union movement, it took a formal shape and form only in the late 80s. Blessed with the pastoral care of His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos and special care from His Excellency Most Rev. Geevarghese Mar Makarios and other bishops, today, we have 4 personal parishes in the garden city. St. Mary's Malankara Catholic Church, Bangalore was first consecrated in 1999, in a very small building with a small but highly dedicated group of laity. By the Grace of our Lord, the parish has grown leaps and bounds and the newly built church was consecrated in 2014 as dedication to Mother Mary.
