“Onam is the celebration of togetherness, happiness and universal brotherhood.” ❤️
St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru, celebrated Onam 2026, the beloved festival of Kerala, with great enthusiasm and traditional spirit on Sunday, 20th September 2026.
The celebrations began with the graceful traditional dance Thiruvathira, where the young women of our parish beautifully showcased their talents and added colour and charm to the festivities. 💃🌸
The celebrations continued with a variety of fun-filled competitions for the parishioners, including Musical Chairs,etc.and several other entertaining events. Special competitions and activities were also arranged for the children, who participated with great excitement and thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations. 🎉👧👦
The Onam celebration was truly a joyful occasion for the Alphonsian family to come together and cherish the beautiful memories, traditions and cultural heritage of our beloved home state, Kerala. 🌴🌺
Wherever Keralites may settle across the world, Onam continues to bring us together, reminding us of our roots, our traditions and the bond of togetherness.
Let us carry forward the true spirit of Onam — love, sharing, harmony, compassion and universal brotherhood — and continue to care for and support one another. 🤝❤️

— with these words, Angel Gabriel greeted Blessed Virgin Mary.

St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru, joined the Catholic Church around the world in celebrating the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Tuesday, 8th September 2026. 🌹
As part of the prayerful celebrations, the faithful gathered in the Church and participated in the Aghanda Japamala, continuously reciting the Holy Rosary throughout the day. The Church resonated with heartfelt prayers and devotion as the faithful sought the maternal intercession and blessings of Mother Mary.
The day-long prayer services concluded in the evening with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, with Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar, as the Main Celebrant.
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of Nercha Payasam, adding a beautiful traditional touch to this blessed occasion. 🙏❤️
May the Blessed Virgin Mary, our loving Mother and intercessor, continue to guide and protect our families and parish community with the blessings of Lord Jesus.

🙏🌿 September & October 2026 – Months Dedicated to the Holy Eucharist 🌿🙏

“Take, eat this. Do this in remembrance of me.” ✝️

With these sacred words, Jesus instituted the Holy Eucharist before offering Himself unto death for the salvation of mankind. The Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of Christian life, holds the central place in the faith and worship of the Catholic Church.

At St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru, the months of September and October 2026 have been dedicated to special prayers and spiritual activities to deepen our understanding of and devotion to the Most Holy Eucharist. 🙏

To mark the beginning of this special occasion, Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar, and Rev. Fr. Jinson Valliampurath, Assistant Vicar, together with four children of our parish who recently received their First Holy Communion, solemnly lit the lamp. 🕯️✨

May these two months help us grow in our love, faith and devotion to Jesus truly present in the Holy Eucharist. May we experience His peace, grace and presence in our families and in our lives.

🇮🇳🙏 Independence Day Celebrated along with Special Prayers on the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mother Mary 🙏❤️

St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru, joined the nation in celebrating the 80th Independence Day of India on Saturday, 15th August 2026, with patriotic spirit and fervent prayers.

A large number of parishioners participated in the Holy Eucharistic Celebration and special prayers held in the church, seeking God’s blessings upon our nation and its people. Following the Holy Mass, the National Flag was hoisted in the church premises by Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar. The occasion was filled with patriotic fervour as the parishioners enthusiastically joined in singing the National Anthem. 🇮🇳

The day was made even more blessed as the faithful prayed to commemorate the Solemnity of the Assumption of Blessed Mother Mary, remembering her glorious assumption into heavenly glory. 🌹🙏

On this special day, let us continue to pray for the peace, unity and prosperity of our beloved nation, for the peaceful co-existence of all citizens, and for lasting peace throughout the world.

🌸 "A Family that Prays Together, Stays Together" 🙏❤️

St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru, made a meaningful beginning to the Family Month on Sunday, 2nd August 2026, with a special prayer aimed at strengthening family relationships through faith, prayer, and togetherness.
The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar, along with the youngest couple of the parish, Alwin and Brigit, symbolizing the light of Christ guiding every family.

In his inspiring message, Fr. Bijoy Arimattom emphasized the importance of prayer, mutual respect, understanding, and love within families. He reminded the faithful that strong and prayerful families become the foundation of a peaceful and harmonious society. A month-long series of prayer gatherings and activities for the renewal of family life was also inaugurated.

🌹 Felicitation of Outgoing Trustees.

On the same occasion, the parish lovingly honoured the outgoing Trustees, Mr. Geogy Mathews and Mr. Joseph V. M., in appreciation of their dedicated and selfless service to the parish over the past year.
Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar, and Rev. Fr. Ginson Valliampurathu, Assistant Vicar, felicitated both the outgoing Trustees and thanked them for their valuable contributions to the growth and welfare of the parish. The parish community expressed heartfelt gratitude and wished them God's abundant blessings in the years ahead.

🌸 Prayerful Conclusion of the Annual Feast celebrations of St. Alphonsa 2026 🌸

The ten-day Annual Feast celebrations of St. Alphonsa, which commenced on 17th July 2026, concluded in a most prayerful and blessed manner on Sunday, 26th July 2026 at St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru.

The parishioners were privileged to have the gracious presence of Most Rev. Mar James Patteril CMF, Bishop of the Eparchy of Belthangady, as the Main Celebrant for the solemn Holy Eucharistic Celebration. Fr. Lawrence Poonolil ( Chancellor, Eparchy of Belthangady), Fr.Mathew Thiruvanmoola CMF, Fr. Martin Vithayathil CMF, Fr.Tuby Kannathu CMF, Fr. Bijoy Arimattom (Vicar) and Fr. Ginson Valliampurathu, (Asst. Vicar) of our Parish co-celebrated the Holy Mass.

Following the Holy Mass, a colourful festal procession was carried out, in which thousands of devotees participated prayerfully, carrying the holy statues of Mother Mary and St. Alphonsa, along with the statues of saints after whom the parish wards are named. The procession, adorned with colourful umbrellas, the vibrant rhythm of traditional Chendamelam, the Holy Cross, and the prayers on the lips of every devotee, became a joyful and faith-filled witness to the neighbourhood around the church.

The celebrations concluded with the Novena of St. Alphonsa. The faithful were also blessed with the opportunity to venerate the Holy Relics of St. Alphonsa and experience the loving presence and powerful intercession of the saint.

These ten days of prayer, fellowship, and devotion were truly an enriching spiritual experience for all the parishioners. May the blessings of Almighty God continue to strengthen our faith, deepen our brotherhood, and inspire us to serve one another with love.
