🇮🇳🙏 Independence Day Celebrated along with Special Prayers on the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mother Mary 🙏❤️

St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru, joined the nation in celebrating the 80th Independence Day of India on Saturday, 15th August 2026, with patriotic spirit and fervent prayers.

A large number of parishioners participated in the Holy Eucharistic Celebration and special prayers held in the church, seeking God’s blessings upon our nation and its people. Following the Holy Mass, the National Flag was hoisted in the church premises by Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar. The occasion was filled with patriotic fervour as the parishioners enthusiastically joined in singing the National Anthem. 🇮🇳

The day was made even more blessed as the faithful prayed to commemorate the Solemnity of the Assumption of Blessed Mother Mary, remembering her glorious assumption into heavenly glory. 🌹🙏

On this special day, let us continue to pray for the peace, unity and prosperity of our beloved nation, for the peaceful co-existence of all citizens, and for lasting peace throughout the world.

🌸 "A Family that Prays Together, Stays Together" 🙏❤️

St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru, made a meaningful beginning to the Family Month on Sunday, 2nd August 2026, with a special prayer aimed at strengthening family relationships through faith, prayer, and togetherness.
The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar, along with the youngest couple of the parish, Alwin and Brigit, symbolizing the light of Christ guiding every family.

In his inspiring message, Fr. Bijoy Arimattom emphasized the importance of prayer, mutual respect, understanding, and love within families. He reminded the faithful that strong and prayerful families become the foundation of a peaceful and harmonious society. A month-long series of prayer gatherings and activities for the renewal of family life was also inaugurated.

🌹 Felicitation of Outgoing Trustees.

On the same occasion, the parish lovingly honoured the outgoing Trustees, Mr. Geogy Mathews and Mr. Joseph V. M., in appreciation of their dedicated and selfless service to the parish over the past year.
Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar, and Rev. Fr. Ginson Valliampurathu, Assistant Vicar, felicitated both the outgoing Trustees and thanked them for their valuable contributions to the growth and welfare of the parish. The parish community expressed heartfelt gratitude and wished them God's abundant blessings in the years ahead.

🌸 Prayerful Conclusion of the Annual Feast celebrations of St. Alphonsa 2026 🌸

The ten-day Annual Feast celebrations of St. Alphonsa, which commenced on 17th July 2026, concluded in a most prayerful and blessed manner on Sunday, 26th July 2026 at St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru.

The parishioners were privileged to have the gracious presence of Most Rev. Mar James Patteril CMF, Bishop of the Eparchy of Belthangady, as the Main Celebrant for the solemn Holy Eucharistic Celebration. Fr. Lawrence Poonolil ( Chancellor, Eparchy of Belthangady), Fr.Mathew Thiruvanmoola CMF, Fr. Martin Vithayathil CMF, Fr.Tuby Kannathu CMF, Fr. Bijoy Arimattom (Vicar) and Fr. Ginson Valliampurathu, (Asst. Vicar) of our Parish co-celebrated the Holy Mass.

Following the Holy Mass, a colourful festal procession was carried out, in which thousands of devotees participated prayerfully, carrying the holy statues of Mother Mary and St. Alphonsa, along with the statues of saints after whom the parish wards are named. The procession, adorned with colourful umbrellas, the vibrant rhythm of traditional Chendamelam, the Holy Cross, and the prayers on the lips of every devotee, became a joyful and faith-filled witness to the neighbourhood around the church.

The celebrations concluded with the Novena of St. Alphonsa. The faithful were also blessed with the opportunity to venerate the Holy Relics of St. Alphonsa and experience the loving presence and powerful intercession of the saint.

These ten days of prayer, fellowship, and devotion were truly an enriching spiritual experience for all the parishioners. May the blessings of Almighty God continue to strengthen our faith, deepen our brotherhood, and inspire us to serve one another with love.

🌸 Annual Feast of St. Alphonsa 2026 – Day 9 | 25th July 2026

The ten-day Annual Feast celebrations of St. Alphonsa continued with deep devotion and prayer on Saturday, 25th July 2026, at St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Sultanpalya, Bengaluru.

The solemn Holy Eucharistic Celebration was led by Rev. Fr. Siby Njavallikunnel CMF (Provincial, St. Thomas Province) as the Main Celebrant, with Rev. Fr. Bijoy Arimattom, Vicar, and Rev. Fr. Ginson Valliampurathu, Assistant Vicar, as Co-Celebrants.
Special prayers were offered for peace in India and throughout the world. On this blessed occasion, the serving and retired Police and Defence personnel of our parish were felicitated in recognition of their dedicated service in safeguarding peace, security, and the rule of law in our nation.

The highlight of the day was the Holy Rosary Procession (Japamala Pradakshinam) around the church premises. A large number of faithful prayerfully participated, carrying lighted candles and the holy statue of Mother Mary, seeking God's abundant blessings through her loving intercession.

As we joyfully prepare to celebrate the Main Feast of St. Alphonsa on Sunday, 26th July 2026, let us unite in prayer and thanksgiving.
