First Sunday : English, Second Sunday : Kannada, Third Sunday : Tamil, Fourth Sunday : Kannada, Fifth Sunday : Youth Service. Church was built and named after the first martyr for Jesus-Stephen. Stephen’s Church was dedicated for God’s glory in the year 1972. by then Bishop Sargent in Jalahalli village. It all began in 1960’s when a
group of believers from surrounding areas met in homes for worsh
ip. This house Church was affiliated to Church of South India (CSI). The Church catered to the needs of the community and thus began to grow both in
quantity and quality. The place became too congested and a need for a proper Church
building arouse so that none will be left out to worship the Lord. With God’s help the
Church was built and named after the great disciple Stephen. After a glorious and eventful 40 years, today the Church has 130 families. The worship
service and other programmes like Sunday School, Youth Fellowship and Women’s Fellowship are conducted regularly
THE ACTIVITIES
The Church is involved in various community service programs, some of them are listed below:
1. Free comprehensive pre-school education to the underprivileged and marginalized
children who are in age group of 3 to 6 years. These children are provided with
lunch, uniforms, school bags, play articles and Christmas gift. Supporting Home of Hope (AutoRaja), a
home for the Destitute, and other Orphanages.
2.Care for the poor, needy, depressed and
downtrodden:
THE NEED:
As mentioned before, the Church is 40 years old. The present condition of the Church building is
deteriorating due to its mud walls and asbestos
sheet roofing. During rainy season there are
leakages inside the Church building. There’s a
danger of the wall collapsing at any time. It is
because of God’s grace and mercy that it is able to
withstand the elements of nature all these years. Presently the Church can accommodate about
200 people. Due to the increase in the number of
members of our Church, it needs an extension to
accommodate at least another 300 people. THE NEED
OUTREACH PROGRAMS
The approximate cost of the project is 1.5 Crores (150 Lakhs); this includes
the demolition of the present building and building a new structure with
pillars. The actual Church will be in the first floor with all the facilities
required for a good Church building. We hereby request you to stand along in this mission to build a new
Church building. We greatly appreciate your prayers and financial
support which will enable us to complete the Church building for God’s
glory. Your support will bring real hope and transformation to further the
