From today, Saturday 8pm to 9pm, and then for the Saturdays to follow, Dr. Varghese Biju Thomas will be leading a Bible Study Series on the New Testament. Last year we had completed the Old Testament. It's a Zoom meeting, so anyone interested in joining can let us know.

For the past month, the Gospel Church (Bengaluru) has been doing a memory verse challenge. We selected one or few verses from each book of the Bible, so 66 in total. And then we asked the congregation to try and learn as many as they can. We had five levels... and so Level 1 was for learning only one verse. And Level 5 was for learning all the selected verses. Most of the church got behind this activity and have been diligent to learn at least a few verses. So this video is a consolidation sermon, where we provide a rationale for why it is important to learn Bible verses, and particularly why those verses were selected for the church.

The Gospel Church Bible Memory Verse Challenge

*Complete any level by Christmas day*

*Level 1:* learn any 1 passage
*Level 2:* learn any 8 listed passages
*Level 3:* learn any 20 listed passages below (10 from OT and 10 from NT)
*Level 4:* learn all the listed passages from either NT or OT by Christmas.
*Level 5:* learn all the listed passages, from both OT and NT

Post every passage you learn as a video to the Gospel Church WhatsApp group. You don’t need to send or remember all the verses together. You don’t need to wait till Sunday. You can send the videos anytime during the week. For non-English speaking members, you can post these memory verses using video in whatever language-translation you regularly use. Parents can record their children saying the verses and send via WhatsApp.

*Prizes.* Anyone who finishes any level is eligible for a prize.

Please let us know what type of prize you would want (tell Nigel or Pastor Thomas 3 or 4 ideas). We (the Church) will try to arrange that prize (gift) for you. If we can’t, we will still try to make sure you get something that you like. The goal is for all of us to try and learn the Bible. Let’s try it!
