जाग्रत्स्वप्नसुषुप्तभेदे तुर्याभोगसम्भवः॥
Jāgrat-svapna-suṣupta-bhede turyābhoga-sambhavaḥ.
“The enjoyment of the Fourth arises within waking, dreaming, and deep sleep.” — Śiva Sūtra 1.7

Turiya is not separate from life; it can shine through every state.

Turiya, the “Fourth,” is the ever-present ground of awareness behind waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. Kashmir Shaivism’s radical teaching is that realization is not escape from states, but recognition of Consciousness within all states.

The sutra says: जाग्रत्स्वप्नसुषुप्तभेदे तुर्याभोगसम्भवः. The bliss of the Fourth can arise in waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. Usually we think meditation is one special state and life is another state. But Trika says no.
The Fourth is not somewhere else. It is the awareness present in every state.

When you are awake, awareness is there. When you dream, awareness is there. When deep sleep comes, awareness is still the background. Spiritual maturity means recognizing the same Consciousness through changing conditions. You do not have to escape life to find Shiva. You have to recognize the one who is present in every mode of life.

शक्तिचक्रसंधाने विश्वसंहारः॥
Śakti-cakra-saṃdhāne viśva-saṃhāraḥ.
“When one unites with the circle of powers, the universe is withdrawn.” — Śiva Sūtra 1.6

When awareness unites with its own powers, the illusion of separation dissolves.

Śakti-cakra means the circle or wheel of powers. These powers are not outside Consciousness; they are its own expressions.
When the yogin recognizes perception, thought, emotion, and energy as Śakti, the separate world collapses back into awareness.

This sutra says: शक्तिचक्रसंधाने विश्वसंहारः — when one unites with the circle of powers, the universe is withdrawn. This does not mean the physical world disappears.
It means the world as “other than me” begins to dissolve. Your senses, thoughts, emotions, breath, desires, and perceptions are not enemies. They are Śakti-cakra — the wheel of your own divine powers.
But when you do not recognize them, they bind you. When you recognize them, they return you to Shiva. This is the genius of Trika Ta**ra: it does not reject experience.
It divinizes experience. The world is withdrawn when it is recognized as Consciousness.

उद्यमो भैरवः॥
Udyamo bhairavaḥ.
“The sudden upsurge is Bhairava.” — Śiva Sūtra 1.5

Every sudden rise of awareness can become a doorway into Bhairava.

Udyama means sudden emergence, upsurge, or energetic rising.
In Trika, awakening is not always gradual. Sometimes a flash of intensity, wonder, silence, love, fear, or devotion can reveal the ground of Bhairava-consciousness.

The sutra says: उद्यमो भैरवः — the sudden upwelling is Bhairava. This means awakening can happen in the flash of a moment.
A sudden silence. A deep breath. A shock. A wave of devotion.
A moment where the mind stops and awareness rises by itself.
Kashmir Shaivism does not say spirituality is only sitting quietly in a cave. It says every intense movement of life can become a doorway. The problem is not intensity. The problem is unconsciousness.
When energy rises and you contract, it becomes emotion. When energy rises and you recognize it, it becomes Bhairava.
So the next time something intense arises, pause. Do not run. Look into the upsurge. Shiva is hidden there.

Save this as a reminder: intensity can become initiation.

Without grounding and real guidance, people mistake sensation for awakening — and chase intensity instead of integration. But true awakening doesn't leave you shaking and seeking the next high. It leaves you steadier. Humbler. Clearer. More capable of holding truth without needing to broadcast it.

Don't chase the fireworks.
