Over 70 participants from across the country gathered on March 19, 2026, for ATA India’s quarterly academic development webinar on “𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲: 𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀,” held via Zoom.

The sessions were led by Dr Bennet Lawrence, Dr Johnson R, and Dr Thawng Ceu Hnin, who helped institutions reflect on the importance of developing clear and contextualised academic writing standards while guiding them in shaping their own institutional style guides. Their practical insights, along with interactive elements, made the sessions both engaging and meaningful.

This webinar is part of ATA India’s ongoing effort to strengthen theological education in India by equipping institutions with tools that support academic clarity and excellence.

On March 2–3, 2026, the third Regional Workshop of the Academic Formation Workshop series by Asia Theological Association India was hosted in Telangana for our member institutions (Andhra & Telangana) across the region.

Around 25 participants gathered for two days of thoughtful engagement, honest reflection, and practical learning. It wasn’t about sitting through lectures. It was about sharpening vision, strengthening academic practices, and building institutions that can serve the Church and society with depth and integrity.

Three regions. One shared commitment to academic excellence. 📚🔥

On February 26–27, 2026, the second Regional Workshop of the Academic Formation Workshop series by Asia Theological Association India was held in Kanyakumari for our member institutions across the South.

Leaders and faculty members gathered not just to attend sessions, but to think hard about the future of theological education. Honest conversations. Practical strategies. A shared commitment to raise the bar in our classrooms and institutions.

When educators learn together, institutions grow stronger!

The first Regional Workshop of the Academic Formation Workshop 2026 series by ATA India was held in Siliguri on Feb 24-25, 2026 on the theme “Transforming Theological Education: A Masterclass.”

More than 35 participants from institutions in and around the region participated, ready to learn, question, and engage deeply. The room was alive with ideas, practical insights, and a shared desire to strengthen theological education for the next generation.

Two more regions to go. The journey has begun. 🔥📚

Deans Seminar 2026 | January 19–22 | Bangalore, India 🎓🔥

More than 100 leaders and faculty from the member institutions around the nation came together with one shared passion: shaping and strengthening the future of theological education. 💡📚 The days were filled with bold conversations on strengthening distance education, reimagining online programmes, using digital tools with purpose, and building flexible hybrid models that truly serve today’s learners.

By bringing the Consultation on Distance Education and the workshop together, the seminar sparked rich dialogue, fresh ideas, and renewed commitment. 🙌✨ The energy in the room was unmistakable, and the vision for what lies ahead is stronger than ever.

With deep sorrow, we share the passing of Mr Sudhakar Victor, beloved husband of our Executive Secretary, Mrs Priscilla, and loving father of Ms Sheeba. After a long and trying season, he has been called home to be with the Lord.

We humbly ask our ATA India family and friends to uphold Mrs Priscilla and Sheeba in prayer. May God’s unfailing peace, strength, and comfort sustain them, and may His presence and grace carry them through this time of loss.

Just wrapped up an insightful VET workshop in Mysore (Dec 17-19, 2025)! ATA India staff came together to dive deep into the Accreditation manual and explore key areas to strengthen theological education. Grateful for the collaboration and commitment to excellence! 💡

GATE Workshop – North East India Cohort (Year 1) wrapped up at Oriental Theological Seminary, Nagaland, on December 8–10.

Selected institutions came in with energy, curiosity, and a real desire to grow. Their engagement over these three days was the highlight of the program.
The cohort is already looking ahead to Year 2, carrying this momentum forward.
A meaningful step for theological formation in the region.

We’re glad to share that ATA India and Evangelical Theological Seminary (ETS-ACA) have entered a new partnership to strengthen PhD training for emerging scholars across Asia. ETS will welcome qualified faculty from ATA member institutions into its PhD programs, offer full academic support, and provide guided research training on campus. ATA will help promote these programs across the region as we work together to advance theological scholarship.
