When Sayyiduna Ali came to the Prophet ﷺ to ask for Sayyidah Fatimah's hand in marriage, he saw the beautiful face of the Messenger which was filled with light, majesty and awe, and completely forgot everything he came to ask, so Rasūlullāh ﷺ beautifully smiled at him and said, "Perhaps, you've come to ask me about marrying Fatimah?" That was the beginning of one of the greatest marriages in the world. How beautiful the father! How perfect the daughter! How blessed the son in law!

If you are blessed to be married with someone you love and with a person who brings you closer to Allāh then gives thanks to Him. If you are still waiting then we sincerely pray that you are blessed very soon.

How did Rumi find his Shaykh? Rumi was incredibly learned and extremely astute. One day, he was studying next to a pool of water and there were books next to him. A stranger who looked unlearned and poor came to him and asked, 'What is this?' Rumi didn't give him attention and simply said, 'Something you don't understand!' The man picked up Rumi's books and threw them in the pool of water. When Rumi exclaimed with dismay, the man placed his hand in the water and took out the books which were amazingly unharmed or damaged. Rumi was astonished and asked, 'What is this?' He replied, 'Something you do not understand!'

Memorising a few lines and learning knowledge is not an excuse to look down upon people. Allāh gives wilayah to whoever He wants, whenever He wants. They don't have to look a certain way, or be famous, or be very learned. It could be a young mother looking after 3 kids. It could be a man without a full fist beard. It could be the homeless Muslim down the road. It could be the sinner who cries every night due to regret. It could be that divorcee or widow who no gives a chance too.

Before Shaykh 'Abd al-Qadir's father was married, the man that he was serving told him to get married to his daughter. The man said she was deaf, blind, had no feet and no hands, so what did the Shaykh's father do? He happily agreed. 'Ajiiib. On the night of his marriage, he walked into a room and saw a woman of nobility and honour so he panicked and rushed out of the room, and went to the father who explained, 'My daughter is deaf because she has not heard haram. My daughter is blind because she has not seen haram. My daughter has no feet because she has not walked to haram. My daughter has no hands because she has never stretched her hand out to haram.

Whilst she was pregnant, she would recite 15 Juz a day. After he was born, she would nurture him, ensure all of his food was pure, and still continually read 15 Juz throughout the night and day. On the first day the Shaykh went to Madrassah at the age of 4, the teacher told him to recite, 'Alif' but continued with 'Lām, Mīm' until he showed that he had memorised half the Qur'an simply through hearing it every day. This was all possible through the beautiful Tawakul of his father and the incredible nurturing of his mother. This is the type of parenting which produces saints and great people.

It doesn't matter if you didn't wear the Hijab or you didn't pray. It doesn't matter if you didn't have a beard and you never fasted. It doesn't matter if you had relationships and you disobeyed. It doesn't matter if you clubbed, drank alcohol, took drugs and had a girlfriend in the past.
What matters is now. What matters is the present. What matters is you right now. Never give up. Never lose hope. Never despair. Never feel like you can't be forgiven. If you filled the oceans with sins and you dropped a tear, Allah would forgive you. If you filled the skies with mistakes and you repented, Allah would surely pardon you.
