ICYM Bagdogra Diocese The first Station was established at Gayaganga in 1933 by Fr. A Bossaerts, SJ.

Pope John Paul II divided the Diocese of Darjeeling, and thus the Diocese of Bagdogra was created on 14th June 1997, with Bishop Thomas DSouza as its first Bishop.

Meeting with the Bishop | 12 August 2026 🙏

The Diocesan Youth Commission – Catholic Diocese of Bagdogra had a fruitful meeting with the Bishop on 12th August 2026 to discuss important matters concerning the youth ministry.

📌 Key discussions included:
• 6th Diocesan Youth Convention 2026
• Renovation & development of the Diocesan Youth Office
• Election of the Diocesan Youth Executive Committee (DEXCO)
• Placement & Awareness Drive
• Spiritual, pastoral and organizational growth of the youth

We sincerely thank our Bishop for his valuable guidance, encouragement and support towards strengthening the youth ministry of the Diocese. 🙏❤️
