6 ذی الحجہ یوم عرس

مُحسنِ کشمیر سید السادات حضرت شاہ ہمدان امیرِ کبیر میر سید علی ہمدانی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ
حضرت امیر کبیر میر سید علی ہمدانی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ 12 رجب المرجب 714 ہجری کو ایران کے شہر ہمدان میں پیدا ہوئے۔

آپ کا شمار ان ہستیوں میں ہوتا ہے جنہوں نے وادی کشمیر اور اس کے گرد و نواح میں اسلام کی اشاعت اور ترویج میں کلیدی کردار ادا کیا۔

آپ حسنی حسینی سید ہیں اور
آپ کا نسب تقریبًا 16 یا 17 واسطوں سے حضرت امام حسین رضی اللہ عنہ کے ذریعے حضرت علی کرم اللہ وجہہ سے ملتا ہے۔

آپ کو "امیر کبیر"، "علی ثانی"، "شاہ ہمدان"، "سید السادات"، "سالار عجم"، "قطب زمان"، "شیخ شیخان" اور " محسنِ کشمیر" جیسے القابات سے یاد کیا جاتا ہے۔
آپ کئی مرتبہ کشمیر تشریف لائے۔ پہلی بار 774 ہجری میں سلطان شہاب الدین کے دور میں سات سو علماء و سادات کرام کے ایک عظیم کاروان کے ساتھ تشریف لائے اور چار ماہ قیام کے بعد واپس ہوئے۔ 781 ہجری میں دوبارہ کشمیر تشریف لائے اور اس بار تقریباً ایک سال قیام فرمایا اور 785 ہجری میں تیسری مرتبہ تشریف لائے

اس تمام عرصے میں تبلیغ اسلام اور اشاعت دین کے ساتھ ساتھ اپ نے کشمیر کی تہذیب،تمدن،ثقافت اور طرزِ معاشرت میری ایک عظیم انقلاب برپا کیا

آپ کا وصال 786 ہجری (مطابق 1384 عیسوی) کو ہوا اور آپ کو ختلان، تاجکستان (جو اس وقت ایران کا حصہ تھا) میں دفن کیا گیا۔ آپ کا مزار آج بھی مرجع خلائق ہے۔

آپ نے عربی اور فارسی زبانوں میں تقریباً 170 سے زائد کتابیں اور رسائل لکھے ہیں۔ ان میں سے "ذخیرۃ الملوک" اور "اوراد فتحیہ" بہت مشہور ہیں
"اوراد فتحیہ" ایک عظیم الشان اور مقبول ترین کتاب ہے جسے آپ رحمۃاللہ علیہ نے تقریباً 1400 اولیاء کرام سے ملاقات کرکے انکے وظائف و اوراد کو جمع کرکے مرتب کیا ہے اور یہ کتاب آپ نے کشمیر کے مسلمانوں کو بطور وظیفہ پڑھنے کے عطا فرمائی اور عام طور پر اسے بعد فجر مساجد میں پڑھا جاتا ہے

جس جگہ سری نگر میں دریائے جہلم کے کنارے آپ پنج وقتہ نماز باجماعت ادا کرتے تھے اور رشد و ہدایت اور درس و تدریس کا اہتمام کرتے تھے اس جگہ خانقاہ تعمیر ہوئی جو "خانقاہ معلیٰ" کے نام سے منسوب ہوئی

اللہ کریم کی ان پر رحمت ہو اور انکے صدقے ہماری بے حساب مغفرت ہو
