On the eve of Teachers’ day I wish health and wellbeing for all my teachers to whom I am indebted in one way or the other and I pray for the Maghfirah of those who are no more with us. My grandfather Hazrat Maulana Peer Ghulam Hassan Siddiqui (RA) and my beloved uncle Hazrat Faqeer I Millat Peer Rafi Ahmed Siddiqui (RA) have been more than teachers to me. From them I have learned many perspectives of life and being. May Allah bless all those who have taught me even a word.

The current stipend of Rs 12000 for our Medical Interns in the hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir is extremely minimal as compared to their counterparts in other states of India. These young doctors work for long shifts and often manage busy OPDs day in and day out, yet they don’t get paid according to their merits and efforts. As a matter of fact, what these young medics are demanding is not some kind of favour, but a due recognition of their rights and duties.
As responsible citizens our voices of support too must resonate with these young doctors so that they are encouraged to serve us better as a society.

Deeply saddened by the devastating ice collapse and resulting floods in Nepal. Heartfelt condolences and solidarity with every family affected by this tragedy.
This tragedy is also a reminder that the destruction of climate and the environment ultimately brings devastating consequences for humanity. At the same time, the protection of minority rights and religious freedom must be equal, uniform and properly upheld for everyone.

Humanity, nature and justice are deeply interconnected.
