ISKCON Hong Kong,
The Hare Krishna movement first reached Hong Kong around 1970 (some sources mention 1972 as the introduction). Bhurijana Dasa and his wife Jagattarini Dasi were among the pioneering disciples sent by Srila Prabhupada. They arrived from the US in the early 1970s with minimal resources and began spreading Krishna consciousness through door-to-door book and magazine distribution. Tamal Krishna Goswami later built on their efforts and served as a key leader (GBC) in the region.
β’ Srila Prabhupada himself visited Hong Kong in 1972 and 1974. During one visit, he spoke to Indian businessmen and their families at the Park Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The ISKCON center was officially opened and registered in 1981 in a small flat in the Ho Man Tin district. With support from Tamal Krishna Goswami, Giridhari Swami, local devotees, and the Indian community (notably the Harilela family), a larger temple was developed. The temple is dedicated to Sri Sri Gaura Nitai and is housed in a multi-thousand-square-foot apartment in a busy commercial-residential building in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Right now Chandrashekhar acharya das is GBC AND Devrshi prabhu(Indian devotee) is serving as CHAIRMAN OF TEMPLE TMC head and last over 35 five year he is serving.
