Imam Hussain (AS) started his journey towards Karbala! 💔 On 8th Dhul Hijjah 60 AH (680 CE), Imam Hussain (AS) left Makkah and converted his Hajj into Umrah to protect the sanctity of the Kaaba from bloodshed. Refusing to give allegiance to Yazid, he chose the path of truth, dignity, and sacrifice. Along with his family and loyal companions, Imam Hussain (AS) began his historic journey from Makkah towards Karbala — covering a distance of approximately 1,450 km (900 miles), the land that would witness the ultimate sacrifice for Islam and humanity. The journey from Makkah to Karbala was not for worldly power, but to revive justice, defend truth, and preserve the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW)
