Lebi Philip Mathew is YMCA national president
Lebi Philip Mathew has been elected the national president of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). He is currently the Kerala state president of the YMCA. 48-year-old Lebi is the youngest person to be chosen for the top post in the history of YMCA in the country.
R.S. Shettiyan from Mangalore has been elected as the national treasurer. Vijaya Pradhan (Visakhapatinam), Jacob Rajkumar (Chennai) and Abhishek Sahu (Cuttack) have been elected as vice chairmen.
Hailing from Pathanamthitta, Lebi has been working with the YMCA for three decades. He was the state vice-chairman of Uni-Y, YMCA's university students' wing. He has also served as Pathanamthitta YMCA president, sub-regional chairman, south zone chairman and member of various national-level committees. He is also the vice-president of the Kerala Council of Churches.
