📖 Did you know? A verse of Surah Al-Baqarah is connected to Hazrat Ali (A.S)

Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:207):

"And among the people is he who sells himself seeking the pleasure of Allah. And Allah is Most Kind to His servants."

On the night of Hijrah, when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was leaving Makkah and enemies surrounded his house to kill him, Hazrat Ali ( A.S ) courageously slept in the Prophet’s bed, risking his own life to protect him. His willingness to sacrifice himself purely for the sake of Allah became an example of true faith, loyalty, and courage.

This verse reminds us that the highest level of faith is to put Allah’s pleasure above our own safety, comfort, and desires.

🌙 May Allah make us among those who sincerely sacrifice for His sake.

🌙 Hadith of the Cloak (Ahl al-Bayt):

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came out wearing a cloak. Then Hasan (a.s) came and he included him under it. Then Husayn (a.s ) came and he included him. Then Fatima (s.a ) came and he included her. Then Ali (k.a.w) came and he included him. Then he recited:

"Allah only wishes to remove impurity from you, O people of the household, and purify you completely."

(Qur’an 33:33)

This beautiful hadith shows the special status, purity, and honor of the blessed family of the Prophet ﷺ — Ali, Fatima, Hasan, and Husayn (a.s).

🌙 A Night That Defined True Leadership 🌙

One night, Hazrat Ali (RA) was walking through the streets of Madinah when he heard children crying.

Inside a small house, a woman was boiling water while her hungry children sat around the pot.

When Hazrat Ali (RA) asked why they were crying, she replied bitterly:

“They are hungry. I boil water so they think food is coming and fall asleep. Allah will judge the Caliph for neglecting us.”

She did not know she was speaking to the Caliph himself.

Hazrat Ali (RA) said nothing. He hurried to the treasury, filled a sack with flour, dates, and oil, and carried it on his own back.

When his companion offered help, he replied:

“Will you carry my burden on the Day of Judgment?”

He cooked the food with his own hands, fed the children, and smiled as they laughed.
Before leaving, he said softly:

“Forgive Ali if he failed you.”

✨ Lesson: True leadership is not about power or titles—it is about serving quietly, sincerely, and for the sake of Allah.

One night, a poor man came to Imam Ali’s house asking for food.

Imam Ali, Lady Fatimah (س), and their children Hasan and Husayn had very little to eat — only enough for themselves.

They still welcomed the guest warmly.
When it was time to eat, Imam Ali turned off the lamp so the guest wouldn’t feel embarrassed. In the darkness, the family pretended to eat, but they gave all the food to the guest.

They slept hungry that night.

Allah revealed verses praising them for this selflessness:

“They give food, out of love for Him, to the poor, the orphan, and the captive…”
(Qur’an 76:8)

✨ Lesson: True generosity means giving even when you have little.

One night, Imam Ali (A.S) lost his shield.

Later, he saw it in the hands of a Jewish man.

He took the case to court.

The judge asked: “Do you have proof?”

Imam Ali (A.S) said: “No.”

So the judge ruled against him.

Even though he was the Caliph, he accepted the decision.

Seeing this justice, the man said: “This must be the religion of truth.”

He accepted Islam and returned the shield.
