ભગવાન વિષ્ણુની સર્વોપરિતા (અધ્યાય ૬, શ્લોક ૩૯):

સ એષ આદ્યઃ પુરુષઃ કલ્પાદાવત્મમાયયા।
સસર્જાગ્રે ગુણમયં ગુણાત્મા જગદીશ્વરઃ॥

ભાવાર્થ: તે અનાદિ અને પરમ પુરુષ પરમાત્માએ જ કલ્પના પ્રારંભમાં પોતાની માયા દ્વારા આ ગુણમય જગતનું સર્જન કર્યું છે.
