✝️ A Lenten Prayer of Repentance
O Holy and Compassionate Lord,
God of mercy and boundless love,
who calls sinners to repentance and does not desire the death of anyone,
hear the cry of Your unworthy servant.
In this sacred season of Great Lent,
as Your Church walks the narrow path of fasting, prayer, and humility,
I come before You with a broken and contrite heart.
Forgive me, O Lord,
for my sins committed knowingly and unknowingly,
in thought, word, and deed.
Forgive my pride, my anger, my impatience,
my neglect of prayer, and my lack of love.
Cleanse my heart from hidden faults.
Remove from me the spirit of sloth and spiritual dryness.
Deliver me from judging my brothers and sisters.
Grant me tears of repentance like the saints,
and a heart that longs for Your righteousness.
O Lord Jesus Christ,
You fasted forty days in the wilderness
and overcame the temptations of the evil one.
Strengthen me in my weakness.
Help me to fast not only from food,
but from sin, harsh words, and selfish desires.
Teach me true humility.
Fill me with patience in trials,
peace in disturbances,
and love toward all.
Remember, O Lord, Your Holy Church,
our priests, deacons, and faithful people.
Bless our homes and families.
Grant comfort to the suffering,
healing to the sick,
and hope to the discouraged.
May this Great Lent be for me
a season of renewal,
a time of reconciliation,
and a path leading to the joy of Your Holy Resurrection.
For You are merciful and compassionate,
long-suffering and abundant in goodness,
and to You we offer glory,
with Your Father and Your Holy Spirit,
now and forever and unto the ages of ages.
Amen.
