PREDICTING THE FUTURE:- During the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, a group of social analysts gazed 100 years into the future and tried to forecast what the world would be like in 1993. Some of their predictions were: 1. Many people will live to be 150. 2. The government will have grown more simple, as true greatness tends always toward simplicity. 3. Prisons will decline, and divorce will be considered unnecessary. They were wrong on all counts! So, what does the future really hold? Two things are certain: circumstances will change; God will not. We know these truths from observation. We see them throughout the Bible. Yet, we must prove them for ourselves when our life turns upside down and everything seems out of control. We can give way to fear and panic, or we can choose to trust God's promise: The mountain shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has mercy on you (Isaiah 54:10). Although circumstances will change, God will never change. We can be confident that He will always be faithful. ONE of the most delightful qualities of divine love is its abiding character. The pillars of the earth may be moved out the their places, but the kindness and the covenant of our merciful Jehovah never depart from His people. How happy our soul feels in a firm belief of this inspired declaration! The year is almost over, and the years of our life are growing few, but time does not change our LORD. New lamps are taking the place of the old, perpetual change is on all things; but our Lord is the same. Force overturns the hills, but no conceivable power can affect the eternal God. Nothing in the past, the present, or the future can cause Jehovah to be unkind to me. Therefore, we can be at peace. MAY GOD SMILE ON YOU TODAY!
